FA Cup Shrewsbury 9/11/2019 Replay 19/11/2019

Shrewsbury have had good wins at places like Peterborough and Sunderland they controlled midfield tonight so we had to bypass and without Donaldson we had nobody to hold the ball up. He was badly missed tonight but you have to give shrews some credit

 

Not read through the thread yet but on top of a pitiful performance tonight I was bitterly disappointed to hear tonight Bowyer say that we should learn from Shrewsburys tactics of gamemanship ,well I for one do not want to see under any circumstances my Bradford City stoop as low as that witnessed tonight by Shrewsbury or most of the other sides that have come to spoil games over the last few years....

 

Really?

You must be a minority of purists, then, because I've heard an awful lot of moaning about how we're unable to shut a game down this season alone.

Unfortunately getting into a winning position and then shutting the game down is all about that kind of gamesmanship.

 

We aren’t doing too badly in the league with the shackles on to be fair.

Come the end of the season I’d rather play as we are and go up, than release the shackles, concede more and finish outside the play offs.

He’s getting more right than wrong at the moment.

 

We'll never know until he gets his chance, last night was an ideal chance to give him 20 minutes, I will go on championing Reeves until he is given a chance and fails, I for one aren't writting him off, but no suprise you are.

 

Certainly a conundrum.We're sitting pretty with games in hand, in a below par league, whilst not being very convincing. Not firing on as many cylinders as we might hope, but with the weaknesses in the squad and lengthy injuries, I would have to forgive the tactics which are head scratching at times. At the moment belief and confidence is what we need to lift our performance levels and drive us upwards.A couple of good results from the next 2 games will rekindle optimism for me.

If we can keep him fit from now until end of season Reeves quality will show through and like you say Dave he now just needs the game time to build up.

 

I think he values the league more than the cup, hence why no Reeves. He may have come on if we were two up etc

 

I'm hoping reeves didn't play yesterday because he's going to start at plymouth. We certainly need someone of his ability against a team like them.

 

Will just say, think it was nearly a fair result. We should have scored at least one of the two chances we had in the first half.
While we did play naff we came up against some decent L1 opposition. It is what it is, full steam for L2 now no excuses really!

 

To put him in the squad have him warming up and then not playing him whilst Bowyer says he needs to nurse back to match fitness and he wilm be introduced steadiy.
Pritchard or Akpan would have been an ideal chance to give the lad 20 minutes, very strange use of subs.

 

There is no doubt once again we were down to the bare bones once you take the starting 11 out, not sure he didn't want to get through.
I can't see there being a great deal of differance squad wise for our game at Plymouth let's hope we shake last night dire performance off and bring something back as the league is what we need to focus on now.

 

I'm surprised that our expert in all things football didn't know that.

 

The tactic of playing one up front with Vaughan been used to win long ball headers flicking them on to no one shows exactly why Doyle struggled to score when here and why he is so prolific elsewhere in a different system,
The truth is that with Vaughan playing one up front in this system we will struggle to score.

 

If we'd have given him 20mins and got an equaliser, the 20 mins would suddenly have turned into 50mins. Don't think he was ever getting on while ET a possibility.

 

Reeves play 62 minutes the other night, against Rochdale.

 

Yes I know that and then Bowyer went on and on and on saying don't expect too much, supporters will have to be patient, I'm not going to rush him etc etc. but hey ho lets all clamour for him playing another hour the very next game. Was never going to happen.
