Bloody masochist!- City have enough trouble beating former non-league Harrogate without adding those greedy sods to the list.
    Not keen on leaving L2?

Does anyone know the breakdown of the Champions League TV rights? How much each country gets sold for?

I would guess the English rights would go for a lot less if those six were never going to be involved

The new Champions League format was just a cynical attempt to push us in this direction anyway, the big clubs make a threat to break away, UEFA agrees to make concessions to them which we all have to live with, then in another seven or eight years they make more demands and the process begins again. The end result was always going to be a European super league, except instead of doing it gradually by extracting concessions they have grown bold enough to attempt to implement their project immediately. You could make a case that it's better for a clean break to take place now than for us to be slowly pushed back, inch by inch, until we end up at the final stop anyway.

Looking at the proposals it appears that the leagues proposed members are going to slowly cannibalize each other anyway as TV and sponsorship income would not be distributed equally between the clubs. Eventually you will end up with super clubs within the super league, with the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham finishing in the bottom three every year, except without the jeopardy of relegation involved.

They will be making the rules and to be honest if they want 6 from the Premier League Arsenal have to be in the 6 for my brass.

It's all about money, rich foreign owners who want even more so if it was to happen I'd say Man United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Man City, Spurs would be the invited teams, with regards past history Man City would not be anywhere near the top 6 but yes you've guessed it money counts so they'll be involved IMO.

that any claims of previous owners being any better are rubbish and the fact that he happily took the cash from the previous breakaway makes his positioning look a bit iffy

Could well be Brentford! ... Or Watford? ... Or maybe Millwall by the time the new Super League has been formed! ;)

Did Neville make that claim if so I didn't heard it, it will be interesting to see how present day players possibly involved in a European Super League will react as employees of their football clubs, will they have no say as long as their clubs are paying their wages, is it that simple I'm sure the PFA will be having a word, I'd say the Premier League players put plenty into the PFA coffers ?.

Honestly haven't experienced anything in football that has just wound me up to this degree before. Disgusted isn't even the word. Very telling how many owners in the PL also own NFL franchises. Also, Arsenal and Tottenham being involved in any way (and AC Milan for that matter), show this is not a super league of the best players/teams at all. So it's already a busted flush as a product, because why would anyone want to watch teams like Arsenal, Tottenham and AC Milan get spanked every week because that is absolutely what will happen. The clubs who end up at the bottom of this league will stay there and turn their clubs into perennial losers, as if Arsenal and Tottenham weren't already. So now those clubs have to market themselves as bottom of the league strugglers, and we'll see how attractive that is to the fanbase. Tbh I think the fans will either kill the idea or kill the clubs that go with it

Chuck 'em out of the premier league and expunge all previous honours....

Championship down to National league is where the real football exists..

Do wonder if this is the top clubs trying to gain more rights via a threat of a breakaway. I can't actually fathom them doing it with all of the threats that FIFA, UEFA and the national FAs have levied out. hopefully the shear outcry from all football fans will convince the clubs to change their minds. dole out some point deductions too for good measure.

I will say though, moments like this are why I am proud to support a lower league club. We don't complain we failed to get into Europe or fail to land that transfer target from la Liga. Or even fail to win a trophy in a single season!

We don't have to pay for thousands of pounds for season tickets or hundreds of pounds for "stadium" shirts.

I know we are in the 4th division and are struggling to get out of it but its ours. It feels real.

    Bradford City has a soul.

Man United and Liverpool are bang to rights here. Forget any allegiances that lower league fans have to their 'big boy club', these 2 clubs are THE bedrock of football in this country. They've sold their soul to American owners who give not one iota of a f*ck about the traditions and support of these clubs. They're chasing the money on offer in the US and Asia, and they'll chuck every supporter of those clubs from this country, and the game in this country, under a bus to get it.

Immediate five year ban from the Champions League for all clubs involved when this inevitably fails.

Where's your income now, big boys?
