The new super duper european league will have no relegation for 15 of its 20 members-not very competitive.

It WILL be bad news for City as well, if sky lose out then the trickle down money to the EFL will stop or dwindle.
No doubt the likes of amazon prime will be lined up to broadcast this set-up abomination.
The greed needs to be kicked and kicked hard.

    Greedy bastards.

This could blow the PL and EFL apart in terms of consequential impact.

Thought this super league was no relegation at all as they will have no where to be relegated to. They will have left the league structures.

Nothing short of disgusting and I hope they go and are not allowed back.
Football is cyclical and these new wealthy owners don’t like that side of. Funny how Liverpool, Chelsea, arsenal spurs not guaranteed top 4 and the champions league money and this gains even more traction. It stinks

Love this from the Premier League :
The Premier League said a European Super League would "destroy" the dream of fans that "their team may climb to the top and play against the best".

It added such a league would "undermine the appeal of the whole game" and that they would work with the FA, the English Football League, Professional Footballers' Association, League Managers Association and fans to "defend the integrity and future prospects of English football".

The FA said it will "not provide permission to any competition that would be damaging to English football" and will "take any legal and/or regulatory action necessary" to stop it.

They didn't think much about other teams when they formed The Premier League.

Gary Neville having a right go and rightly so, talking about the owners of Liverpool (you'll never walk alone sh!t) and Man United formed by worker many years ago, not forgetting the likes of Chelsea and Man City.

Those clubs are desperate and feel they have the rights to remain at the top table forever. I think this pandemic has sped up this league formation. Juventus last season lost 71 million. Despite the size of these clubs those sort of losses cannot be maintained.
You only have to look at Man City for example, if Pep goes which he will one day they can’t be guaranteed a manager will come in and replace him and do aswell so top 4 is not guaranteed.
Man Utd another side who for the last sort of 6/7 years haven’t always performed and done well to get far into champs league and gurentee that income.
Liverpool look set to miss out this year. What better way to guarantee yourself large amounts of cash?

Well, if they make the announcement this evening, and the 6 English clubs are confirmed, I want to see them expelled from the Premier League (and any other competitions they are in) with immediate effect. No messing around. If they change their minds, then they can start at the bottom of the pyramid.

And as for the players, well it should be made clear to them that if their club joins the breakaway league, then such a move would effectively breach their contracts, leaving them with the option to walk away as a free agent should they elect to do so.

That's what you get with owners who have no f*****g knowledge of the history of football in the UK, all foreign owners £$£$£$£$£$£$£$ that's what its all about screw the fans, the fans reaction at these clubs will be interesting I'm not sure they will be in favour ?.
Gary Neville said the same strip them of their Premier League status and start them again in league two.

However, world governing body FIFA has already said it would not recognise such a competition and any players involved in it would be denied the chance to play at a World Cup.

I think this comment will have players having to make a very serious call

He normally comes across as a massive tw@t on most things but as a football fan I couldn’t agree with him more.Greedy b@stards who he thinks are massive bottlers when push comes to shove.Anybody who hasn’t seen him should try and find his rant after today’s game.Even Roy Keane agrees with him and he really does think Neville is a massive tw@t.

A very emotional reply from Neville but he was brought up with Manchester United as a boy with his brother, loved the "you'll never walk alone" comment with regards Liverpool.

Neville is correct, it won't happen but... The day will come.

Greed will eventually win the day.

hope this link works-it mentions a 20 team league with 5 ahem lesser teams being rotated in and out, how they get that to work who knows.
    Take the money i guess

*ps how on earth are the arsenal a top 6 club.
Should not Leicester and West Ham be involved.
I bet our own interested bystander wont be blowing bubbles.

Thanks, every report I’ve read is about a total breakaway as they would be leaving the league structures and FIFA control I’m not sure how the five changing places would worm

This reads as a power play to me. Certainly the Big 6 English clubs (and Real, Barca and Juventus) are very unhappy with UEFA's plan for a new 36 club Champions League to replace the current structure starting in two years time. As always with the big clubs it's fundamentally about money. In particular It's how the current revenues from the Champions League would be result in a smaller share for the clubs with this reduced amount then redistributed to more clubs. What better threat to UEFA than the big clubs suggesting they will establish their own Super League if you, UEFA, go ahead with your plans to revamp the Champions League?

It comes as no surprise to me that's it's the foreign owned clubs, particularly US based owners, which are behind this since the proposal has features which are based on the NFL set-up. The FA and the PL (and some other national bodies) should have been looking further ahead before they gave the go-ahead to so many foreign owners within their national leagues.

The big question for the two proposals is who would win the TV broadcasting rights for these two different options. That might well determine whether a couple of German and French clubs are attracted to make-up the '20' and thatmight give more kudos to one proposal over the other.

he was brought up with Man Utd as a boy, the same Man Utd who planned the original breakaway that ended up with the compromise of the Premier League.
