I think it's more a case of if doyle comes back he'll be completely misused as he was before, rather than questioning his ability.

 

He wouldn’t have done anything today, can’t blame people for not wanting him back. He won’t do what he’s doing at Swindon here, Vaughan’s a better player and he’s struggling.

That said I’d bring him back just because they’re rivals in the same league, no other reason.

 

I agree if we are even contemplating bringing him back we can't persist with today formation OK we won but the front two got little service, and it took a shocking back pass from the Newport player to get our goal.

 

If Doyle wasn't playing for them and City win the game in hand it could be us at the top right now. I'm on the side of getting him back if financially viable, even if he's not in the team.

Why are you assuming that they paid his full wages?

Lukaku moved to Everton at the same time as Gareth Barry joined on loan from Man City, and Gareth Barry's wages were subsidised by City as the percentage was publicly known to be a stalling point for a while.

We don't know what percentage Everton paid for Barry or Lukaku, be it 50 percent, 100 percent or anything else, what we definitely do know is Premier League clubs loan to rivals at subsidised cost.

And before the claim is made 'they're not rivals', that's arbitrary. Everton finished 5th with Lukaku and Barry on loan, Lukaku scored more than any Chelsea player, what better comparison do we need?

If we finish top three and Swindon finish fifth, the comparison is EXACTLY the same as the 13/14 season, and yet supposedly this is the first time it has ever happened...

 

There's some big ifs there that you're almost trying to pass off as fact.
