    Really ???

@JonButterfield@JonButterfield is quite correct ....... This Forum, and C&B before it was full of regurgitated crap. Jeeeeeze, you can take a week off, come back, and STILL the same posts and views are floating around like an ill poo !

As for reading an email ? I'm sure many on here are as busy, and engaged as I am, so JB no doubt reads plenty of them, just like the best of us ;)

Im not 100% advocating bringing him back. My point is that if Swindon won't take on his full wage and the difference is reasonably substantial then (finances allowing) he might aswell be here instead.

I think you're setting the bar extremely high here. Apart from 3, maybe 4 seasons where he's been genuinley prolific he's also had campaigns where his returns have been more than acceptable for a striker, which you seem to be discarding? Do his 13 goals under Paul Cook for example go down as an abject failure in your book? Will only 20 + goals every season suffice?

He's had 3 genuinley poor seasons in his entire career, 2 of them were at Championship level and another one was at Portsmouth where he played a total of 12 games. For the rest of his career his returns, under several different managers, have ranged from satisfactory to genuinley outstanding. You'll struggle to find a lower league striker with a better record. Even Vaughan and Donaldosn have had spells where they've struggled to find the back of the net- it's just the reality of football for most players outside of the very elite.

    Hi guys.

Been reading this thread with interest for a bit. I have a question.

Who does it benefit to have the terms of Doyle’s loan kept private - usually loans are pretty transparent. If you have a recall, why not just come out and confirm it - the club doesn’t have to say whether they will exercise it or not.

I can only think it’s to delay the fan’s wrath - don’t know whose, though!

I understand we are paying the vast majority of his wages anyway so I can’t see that being used for leverage. 6 months left on his contract isn’t worth much to your club when he’s free at the end of the season. You can’t offload him to another club either.

I can understand him being recalled just to attempt to derail our promotion push, but I doubt you’d get much out of him on the pitch - he’d be one unhappy chappy!

It’s a strange situation all round.

What sort of system do Swindon play? If ever there's proof that putting round pegs into round holes pays dividend, Doyle and his form this season is one of them.

32 goals in 69 for Chesterfield under cook 26 in one season.
14 goals in 30 games Oldham under Richie wellens
Then this season at Swindon under wellens.

Other than at sligo when first starting out he has struggled.

1 IN 3 for Cardiff whilst in the championship is a pretty decent return.

I always assumed his best season(s) were at Preston but on looking it really wasn't.

I dont get this view from some, including our friend from Swindon above, that Doyle would not give 100% and not perform for us. He is a professional who will surely have the view that it would be in his best interest to keep performing and scoring as many goals as possible to enable him to attract as many clubs as possible in the summer with a view to signing and being in a strong position when it comes down to his agent negotiating a deal with someone

Swindon just enjoy the cheap as chips striker and keep the doors locked mate the cant pay take it away guys are coming, they are behind you .....whhooooooooo :skull::imp:

Cameras followed bailiffs Brian O’Shaughnessy and Graham Aldred to the home of the Robins in the summer, as they looked to settle a £23,854.52 debt.

laughable....The bailiffs said that the money related to an unpaid bill for seating. The footage showed the men being made to wait for a substantial amount of time before they chased a member of staff, who’d run away, through the corridors of the stadium.

Human nature, I reckon. He must be well aware he wasn’t wanted at Bradford and, if this forum is a reflection of the majority of fans, most were glad to see the back of him - not an environment to bring the best out of a player.

Would Doyle actually know the terms of his loan contract - I presume his agent must know. He says he wants, and expects, to stay at Swindon. Personally, I think there are only 2 outcomes.

He sees out his season long loan or we sign him perm in January.

Jeez. That was a long time ago, you know. Things are looking up st the moment. Buying the stadium, redeveloping it and waiting for the planning OK for a new £6m training ground.

There is an entire (and lengthy) thread here where we've now merged all the posts dedicated to Eoin Doyle. Let's keep it that way rather than clutter up other threads with still more stuff relating to him. Thanks
