The problem with that is I doubt very much Doyle would want to come back. If we recalled him from somewhere where he is happy and enjoying his football to play in a side that doesn't suit his style, we could just end up with a very frustrated and unhappy player who doesn't help our cause on the field and might lead to unrest in what is currently a very together dressing room. With hindsight, the best thing that we could have done was to not play him in those early games instead of trying to shoehorn him in alongside Donaldson and Vaughan. If we'd not used him then, we would now be in with a very good chance of getting money for him in January that we could then use to strengthen the squad with players that a) suit the way Bowyer wants us to play and b) want to be here.

We have seen quotes from Doyle that he is very happy at Swindon, but as my old mucker @Fordy117 would say we're not a charity.
If Swindon want to keep their leading scorer then cough up more or all of Doyles wages, I do think we should be making our position clear now to Swindon and they and Doyle gave a couple of months to chew it over.

 

Oh I definitely agree if they want to keep him for the rest of the season, they need to start paying more, if not all of his wages. If they aren't prepared to do that then we might have to bring him back - I hope it doesn't come to that though because I don't think it will benefit us and may end up costing us - if we end up paying all his wages again, it might mean we have to send back one or two of our loan players.

 

Maybe he’s gone there to prove a point maybe he will come back and ask for more money from a new contract

he does need to come back also I wouldn’t mind David Ball on loan from wellington Phoenix as an attacking midfielder and impact subsitute I thort he was decent last year

 

Lets get the whole team back from last year. Let's see what all these decent players can do to emulate the down with a whimper, 5 points adrift at the bottom season.

Doyle is hardly likely to come back and sulk. It’s human nature to want to do well- and he’s got the incentive of becoming the leading scorer in all four divisions. He’s also got a point to prove. Bring him back unless he gets injured or the goals dry up.

No. He is our player. He is scoring for them and could be to our detriment come May.

Not a case of coughing up his wages. Its a case of weakening them and strengthening us!!!

 

The best option with Doyle is to threaten to recall unless they cough up a transfer fee. So we can invest it elsewhere
