That will be two seasons he's been on unhappy bunny, any other job he'd be out on his arse, but yes I'd recall him even if it meant him sitting on the bench if that's the way he'd want to play it.

    Seeing is believing, Idle ......
Thousands of fans saw little in Doyle to suggest he was a leading marksman. In fact, MOST saw a diminutive 'man' who really didn't give 2 hoots whether he won any kind of ball, let alone score a goal ! :(
YES, the 'effort' was there, but not the determination.
I guess this is a case of some Clubs fit - And some don't. City didn't suit Doyle, obviously ?

Actually, Bowyer didnt want him to leave, but was forced to loan him out to free up wages to bring 2 or 3 desperately needed midfield players in.

Now someone on here heard Radio Leeds talking about the situation yesterday, and there were hints that we will be looking to recall him due to a shift in affordability.

I hope he is recalled, as we are short of options up front

It must be physically and mentally demoralising playing up top on your own against defenders 5 inches bigger. Losing every week. Bottom of the league.

Gets a clean slate from me. AOC has done ok, Akpan improving...

Demoralising for sure, and perhaps demotivating ? Thing is S P - Will GB deploy Doyle any differently, should he return ?

I think that may be answered by our two cheeky wingers we have in place.

If he comes back (with possible 20 plus goals) from a team that have given him wide crosses and decent service why on earth would Gazza (Tangerine) Bowyer play him differently

I don't think he would, especially with The Don possibly being out. He'd have to play him in the position that will continue to see him scoring goals.

    Scores again 5 minutes in.

7 goals in 5 matches, and they move up to 2nd as things stand.

cant be the only one feeling bitter about this.

Take away his goals and Swindon would be mid table, Our own player may be the difference if they pip us at the end,

Some don't seem to care, I can understand the argument if he's scoring and helping Swindon beat other promotion rivals that can't be a bad thing and it can only make our promotion challenge easier.

He has to come back in January. I don't give a sh!t if he's sat sulking on the bench, why would we let OUR player spearhead a rivals promotion bid?!

But surely someone in his form would add value to out team?

He wouldn't have added to the team today, one upfront and constant hoofball. If GB does bring him back he'd have to alter the system or he'd be completely ineffective again so it probably makes more sense to get Swindon to cough up his full wages and we'll bring in additions elsewhere.

I'm not sure how season long loans are agreed financed wise, I think most accept there would be a call back clause around Christmas if we want him back, can we up the % Swindon pay, I knows he cant play for another club this season but we do need to put pressure on Swindon for more money or they lose him from the New Year, so Swindon pay up or lose your top scorer.

Doyle has to come back. To loan him to a promotion rival is utterly ludicrous.

Get him back and scoring for us

Not saying he'd necessarily just walk into the stating 11 but surely having another option upfront with a player in prolific form would only be a positive.

He wouldn't be prolific for us though in our system at the moment. Just think about how we've played the last few weeks and substitute Vaughan with Doyle. It isn't Doyle's game and it simply wouldn't work.

Playing them both together upfront could work though and it'd be a great option to have but the question I have is whether Bowyer would be open to a shift in system when we're already 2nd in the league?
