Thoughts on Doyle, from our fans, are divided. Some see him not trying hard enough and others just saw a frustrated player often being asked to play an alien role.

Fact is, if you want him to hold the ball up, you’ve signed the wrong player. If you want him to win most aerial duels, again he’s the wrong man. But if you give him service alongside a targetman, he will score goals at this level. Sadly, he never got that at City, hence why we got relegated last season and will struggle again this time.

Playing him for the majority of the season as a targetman and now this season as a no10, is not the way to go. Had we seen him alongside Donaldson, getting good service into the box, I’m sure we would have seen the best from him. Unluckily for Doyle, we signed Vaughan.

The problem now is that we have no real back-up if Vaughan gets injured or suspended and we don’t even know how much of his wages Power is paying!!!!

Can’t even believe this is up for debate.

Example: Doyle earns 5k per week. We’re paying 2.5k already. So will cost us in the region of 60k extra to bring him back for 6 months.

If somebody offered you the best striker in the division for 60k to boost our promotion hopes, and scupper a rivals promotion hopes at the same time you would snap their hand off.

Total no brainer, and only at Bradford city would you have people debating.

It's rare for a div 2 player to be leading goal scorer in the country and in the world.

If they want him they have to pay big money for him. We're not a charity!

Well, I suppose there's not much more for me to say here.

Good luck for the season. Provided it's not at our expense, of course. I hope you (and Doyle) take plenty of points off those around us.

Someone go down to training this morning and take some photos of doyle happy and smiling, just so the swindon fans can carry on crying all over the internet.

He looked to be enjoying himself today training with the rest of the squad, him and Vaughan were obviously having a bit of banter.
No Donaldson with the main group which I was hoping to see, several watching training one said he's had a bit of a set back and he also mentioned we have turned down a £130,000 offer from Swindon, not sure how true that is, I was more disappointed in not seeing Donaldson training.

Lets for a moment stand back and look at the larger picture, a footballer has a limited time in the professional game , during this period he will look to maximise his income .
All this club loyalty --- i want to play for team XYZ is basically crap . Doyle will want 1 last payday in the future , it doesent matter who he plays for really if he continues to show the form he's had so far this season it will make his next move / contract more lucrative , he will try his hardest what ever shirt he wears .
Maybe a cynical view , but i think players show more loyalty to their bank balance than clubs or fans .
iv'e no doubt Doyle will try to continue to achieve the form thats created all this interest . Like i said i see no problems with Doyle and his onfield attitude .

I haven't heard such a ridiculous, hilarious, far fetched rumour since the one I heard in 1989 that Aston Villa had put a £650,000 bid for Ian Ormondroyd.

To be fair we've watched a season of him and three games this season. He really isn't a loss, now need to use the salary space to bring players in.

If I was a manager of a higher division club with a young striker I would love him to come to BCFC, He may not get as many games as such but training and learning from 2 of the very good strikers we have in V & D would be worth it to educate him

I can understand those comments but as a rival promotion chasing team they either pay more of his wages if not all or he returns.
He's almost single handedly fired Swindon into 5th in the league and we're paying most of his wage for the pleasure it doesn't sit right with me.

Good thinking, lets send Cooke, Connelly, Palmer and Devitt back to their clubs to free up cash for Doyle to return.

    Or better still
Lets stop the obsession about this lower division journey man who happens to be on a purple patch at the moment.
There's more to getting out of league two than some prick at Swindon, that has no intention of giving his all for us.

Not sure he's worth anything tbh
I think if Swindon can take him off our hands without any financial obligations to us we'd be happy.
ie if hes on £5k a week as reportedly with us & Swindon can only offer him £3k, we dont have to make the £2k shortfall up for the remaininder of his contract, with BCAFC which would be an approx £50k hit to us to move him on.
He may forgo that for a 2 1/2 year deal with Swindon. Alternatively he may wish to run his contract down and seek further employment with someone else.

The deal has to be right for us, as for once we hold the cards. Hope we dont fold 'em

Most Bradford fans know what’s happening. He ain’t coming back. You see, much as we love our club, we’re also well accustomed to the fact that we’re a bit tin pot and sit somewhere between being utterly unambitious and utterly incompetent in fulfilling what semblance of a plan and ambition we do have. Paying half the wages for your own striker to go and score a shit ton of goals for a ‘promotion rival’ while you struggle for goals yourself is about the most Bradford City thing ever. Not recalling him and making the deal permanent in January is even more Bradford City.
