I wouldn't bank on both Swindon and Doyle fading new year, maybe one but not both. Fact is we own a player who is tearing it up for another club, as good as were doing that cant be ignored.

That isn't going to make him sulk.

Doyle is in a no lose situation. He's a professional and I have never heard him complain.

You're looking for something that's not there plus remember Bowyer never wanted him to leave! Remember that.

Can we do to Doyle what Barnsley did with Miller? Sell him to another club for about £0.5M then make them loan him back to us to get around the 2 club rule. That way we're quids in, have the most prolific striker in Europe available to us AND put Swindon's promotion chances in jeopardy. Not sure what the rules are though, can someone confirm?

 

I think Bowyer plays Doyle and Vaughan wrong.
If played collect yeah for sure. Swindon are not better than us.

 

You can do that but there's no chance we're getting much more than a nominal fee for Doyle.

 

Am sure he plays Doyle and Vaughan wrong and would continue to if he returns but he has stumbled on a winning formulae (at the minute) which beggs for continuity
If GB was sure he had a future and could score goals with us he wouldn't have signed
Donaldson and Vaughan in the first place
Bringing Doyle back and getting the best out of him may prove to be detrimental and disruptive to this seasons Auto push He won't be able to play against us at Swindon so if he is as good as you say leave him where he is and let him take points off other rivals and Both us and Swindon go up

 

I'm not sure anyone disagrees @Flying Duck , the debate is around what we can do to to make sure Doyle is used in the best way by Bradford City.
Bring Doyle back and hope he continues with his phenomenal scorning record.
Leave him at Swindon and hope he continues helping Swindon to beat theirs and our promotion rivals.
Tell Swindon if they want to keep him they pay his full wages for that privilege.
Tell Swindon they can have him on a free but Swindon take on his wage demands, basically taking over his contract from Bradford City.
Swindon take him on a free and negotiate a deal that gives him and his family security for the short term future, he's 32 in March he may be happy with a 21/2 year deal that would take him up to the around 34+ years of age.
I'm sure what ever way the "Doyle scenario" plays out the people making the decision won't get it right for some Bradford City fans .

 

Unfortunately if we sold him to any other club Doyle couldn't play for them this season as he's already played for both City and Swindon, but there would be nothing to stop the team who bought him from us allowing Doyle to play the rest of this season at Valley Parade and hopefully continue with his goal scoring.

 

It might be an option but I doubt the club would want to extend his contract, having to send him out on loan to allow us to use part of his earnings to bring players into other weaker positions within the team suggests we run a very tight ship.

Would the club be willing to take a risk that we might get an offer and if not Doyle would have another 12 months on his reputed £XXX a week at Valley Parade.

 

Can’t even believe this is up for debate.

Example: Doyle earns 5k per week. We’re paying 2.5k already. So will cost us in the region of 60k extra to bring him back for 6 months.

If somebody offered you the best striker in the division for 60k to boost our promotion hopes, and scupper a rivals promotion hopes at the same time you would snap their hand off.

Total no brainer, and only at Bradford city would you have people debating.

This was Fordy's comment (Edin wasn't far off in his master plan) I am replying to that I'm not misinterpreting anything, show me where his decision to go with developing young talent was a success for our club, go on just give me one example?

One thing @Fordy117 is capable of is answering for himself and doesn't need a big brother to answer for him.

 

Maybe because it's a fans message board where things regarding Bradford City can be construed in many ways.
There have been various examples of what the club could/might do bringing him back is just one, bringing Doyle back does not guarantee anything apart from the fact he will not be scoring goals for Swindon Town.

 

Nor does signing anybody in January, maybe we just shouldn’t bother trying to strengthen with that mentality. No signing is guaranteed!

Doyle is proving right now that he is an asset in front of goal.

It's a no brainer isn't it @wetherbywhaler.. or we going to continue this club is the pits story for years to come.

Fans are bored of it now. We need more of a positive outlook and progression on & off the pitch .

My comment is still valid, there are several ways the club might be looking at the Doyle situation, bringing him back and hoping he continues his goal scoring feat is only one of them.
