Just got in to this. Good luck to the lad, never heard of him but gets a fresh start from me. Seems like it’s attitude over ability that’s the problem, let’s hope this is where man management comes in. Mark Marshall looked poor under Parky and had been banned for drugs before, Stuart got the best out of him. Our all time top scorer Bobby another bad boy, let’s hope this is where he finds a home an comes good. We’ve written off players who’ve done well elsewhere so we deserve some of that look for a change, they also wrote off Clarke when he became manager of Port Vale and constantly abused Andy Cook despite being their top scorer with 18 in a season so they do have a history of bitterness towards ex employees, bit like us.

Hopefully it means the other two rumours that the Twitter account put up also come good although until I see them in that blue training jacket I won’t be convinced we have much of a chance.

 

Like others don't know a great deal about this lad. Another young ish signing. Apparently good with both feet.

Good luck to him and I hope MH gets the best out of him. I’ve a feeling he won’t suffer fools easily.
My only concern is the majority of fans know best and can judge a player over a period of time (in this case, 2 seasons) and tend to see the real player, warts and all. Robinson was similarly ridiculed and we saw his worth over last season, just as we predicted Guthries demise.

Hope I’m wrong….

Completely agree.

I don't buy the nonsense that some posters peddle on here that "professional managers know more than fans, so they are always right". You can build up an opinion of a player from his previous clubs forums and I would say that at least 75% of the time it's reasonably accurate.

Of course there are exceptions and we'll point to Doyle as one of those but by and large, for the majority of the time, the fans usually get it right.

That's a simplistic view of course as certain players will fit certain styles and certain tactics but on the whole, listening to previous clubs fans certainly gives an accurate, if basic, overview of the player you're signing.

 

Just watched his interview with the club folks. Listening to him it seems like he's been asked to play a number of positions at Walsall. Probably because he seems quite athletic and energetic looking at the video Kevin posted earlier.

He said he was looking forward to playing centrally. Suggests Hughes has told him that. To me, he feels like the kind of player I thought we were getting with Songo'o. Younger though and looks a bit more dynamic. I have a good feeling that a steady position in the side will give him chance to bed in and it's nice to have another energetic player. We relied on Sutton way too much last season.

On the attitude bit, I feel its being overplayed but let's put it like this. If he's not in the squad after 6 or 7 games we'll know Hughes isn't happy with him!!
