Yes, along with many other manufacturers who owned up after VW were caught. It cost them £ billions in fines, lots more than the others were fined. They deserved it, ALL of them . VW are compensating owners of diesel vehicles I understand, not sure about any other manufacturers though?

Its business only charge and only then if your vehicle is not euro 6 .They said private cars will never pay but who trusts any politician to keep their word.
It has been delayed till 26th September. I ordered a new van to be compliant on Jan 3rd , still waiting on a delivery date.
More expense for companies after having to go through Brexit, covid , are idiot friend in Russia and the extra cost of the compulsory pension scheme.

If I had the money I would buy a new one as they would save me money in the long term on fuel. I have my reservations on the long term second hand market and the costs associated with buying and maintaining one because I don't believe there is sufficient research yet due to the ever changing nature of what is a new developing product . And the mining of the minerals for the batteries and what the people go through to get is something that worries me.

I’m tempted by one of those little electric things if I could charge it. Only drive a few miles to work and home

No need for anyone to have a car in London with such a fantastic underground system that the rest of the country can only dream of.

That I DO go along with. I have two buses a day and 8 miles to a petrol station, so EV’s or an hybrid make perfect sense for me.

One of the most reliable is the E-up. Perfect for short commutes ,the French one……Mmmmmmm?

I'd wait for the ID.1, I'd prefer a built for purpose platform rather than a modified ICE model.
Pretty sure the Dacia Spring will sell well though

ID whole family is a ground up EV. Rear wheel drive , “old school “ driving. Yes the Dacia should do well. It was pretty easy to dismiss most of the other EV’s on that basis as they were all rehashed ice cars.

If I had the time and no rush and guarantee of decent weather I would but as I don't have any of those things I need to drive. Tried bus but again times did match

Difference between £22k and £7k. £22k seems excessive foe short commutes. Plus it would have to be second hand for an e-up

Agree, not cheap. There are lots cheaper. The Chinese may have a big say in the future , however they will fail if they don’t have customer service back up.

They could bring out one marketed specifically for the Yorkshire market and call it the Ay-up.
