So the remarks of Doreen Lawrence saying if there had been more white people in Grenfell the firefighters would have done better. She called the fire brigade racist

It was a very stupid comment to make but she has learnt and apologized.
Politicians take note.

You would think MPs and the like who are elected to represent the people would think before the made stupid comments like that.

 

And she is a Baroness for doing what?

He ended his statement with "IF" here is a quote "I would hate to upset the people of Grenfell IF I was unclear in my comments" so he wont admit he was unclear. IF i was unclear not I was unclear.

How did you as a bradfordian end up apologising for a man who thinks raped women shouldnt be allowed abortions, defended Britains use of concentration camps and now has said the people of Grenfell were too thick to save their own lives.

His ego must grow and grow when the commoners he looks down on back him up to the hilt.

 

An apology albeit a very weak one hardly even mentioned on main stream media yet Rees Mogg gets lambasted for his comments, which were just as ill advised as the ones from Lawrence.

 

I'd go further, the comments from Lawrence were far more damaging than the ones from Rees Mogg. RM's comments were insensitive but his opinion. Lawrence's comments were simple yet ever growing case of desperately looking for racial content in an incident where there clearly was none, that is as dangerous as the racists they claim to be fighting against.

 

I personally dont agree or understand how you can have that viewpoint. For me she is just point scoring and doing very badly at it, like a child grasping for ammunition to win an argument. Whereas JRM let his defences slip and a chink in his armour revealed his true opinions. Arrogantly assuming the unfairness that exists in society is the fault of those who suffer the most, who should have made better choices.

 

All depends what agenda you have. JRM’s comment was a throwaway comment, wasn’t worded in the best way but i don’t see much harm in it. Very little offends me you see. Lawrences comments were racist partly based on her emotional state of mind. To try and us a disaster to, like you say, score points via racism is exactly what she is supposed to be opposed to.

Make no mistake, i can’t stand Rees-Mogg. His sister on the other hand....

Yesterday I read the story from Jess Philips about a constituent who contacted her saying that due to the Election they had to cancel their Christmas Fete.

You have to shed a tear about how people have been put out with a December General Election.

With only 6 weeks till Polling how could this Fete ever be rearranged?

If this tweet wasn't totally made up and this Christmas Fete really was taking place on a Thursday imagine the additional footfall they would have, unless the polling station is taking over the entire school.

I see Nicola "Demands" Sturgeon is prepared to put Corbyn in number 10 in return for another once in a lifetime Independence Referendum.
If only she spent time putting right the problems over which the SNP(propped up by the Greens) have control.
I often wonder what her constituents in the deprived area of Govanhill think of her posturing.
