Disgusting to try and tar Stuart by saying he had any say in signings.

Next you'll be insinuating he played a part in coaching, picking the team and the tactics and style of play.

We don't really know the reality of the situation though do we, nobody does until the events actually transpire.

Every statement on what is to come is pure speculation, whether it's positive or negative.

Many ways of looking at the current situation.

I hope I’m an optimistic person and what i see is that however the club has been run the last 15 years or so has ended up with us “just” being in league one.

Maybe we need to chance our arm and try something different?

It may not work, but it also may do.

Yes I know our two new owners threw £300,000 away and lost the best manager weve had in a long time because Julian had made a promise to Phil Parkinson.
I wonder if they took £300,000 off the price of the club before Edin & Stefan bought it.
    so funny

Huddersfield, Brentford and Burnley are not clubs on our level. Their respective owners have put in millions and millions of their own money to deliver them success. Crewe and Exeter are mediocre clubs who are now back to their natural level. This isn't what we are aspiring to. You got anymore examples?

Also, what is it you're asking in your last paragraph? Teams who achieved success through spending money? I'm spoilt for choice, I'll give you my top 100 tomorrow morning.

Its like groundhog day again, we've discussed this to death. Without money in modern day sport you are going nowhere. Certain clubs like Yeovil hit a rich vein of form but end up where they really belong without the investment to sustain a championship side. Look at Barnsley. Got back into the championship with a talented squad of players but couldn't keep hold of those players because they can't compete with the bigger championship and premiership clubs. Look at the players they let go, Stones, Mawson, Holgate, Winnall, etc. Now back in league 1.

You've obviously read the book "How to Win Friends and Influence People".

It was always going to take time for him/them to clear out the old guard and the club within a club. It was going to ruffle feathers as we don’t like change. We will just have to wait and see. I haven’t agreed with everything he has done or the way he has put himself across via the media but if the season starts well things will be forgotten until it goes wrong.

I was massively critical of Edin's regime only 4-6 weeks ago and called for him out, however now i'm firmly on the fence after this pleasantly surprising summer transfer window. It really has restored confidence in the supporters and I must admit, I am now considering purchasing a season ticket after refusing to renew previously.

Is it as simple as that? Could it be that Edin didn't like Stuart's attitude that he knew more about football than Edin? We all know that Edin wanted Stuart to go before last season started and one thing for sure, Stuart did not get the backing that we have seen this time around.

I disagree and believe that many of the comments and concerns voiced by fans on this site and others convinced and persuaded the owners to start loosening the purse strings. I hope that it all starts to click over the next couple of months.

So why was the previous manager Simon Grayson tweeting about "a bag of sweets" as the budget for him,a guy with multiple promotions?

Grayson and McCall not worth backing but the youth coaches are.

Maybe edin did learn a lesson when Grayson walked out the door.

Maybe 'a bag of sweets' is still the budget but Collins is better at pick and mix than Grayson.

FGS man what is it now.

If you want to continue with your inane dribbling, may I suggest you create a thread called McCall and then you can tap away until your heart is content.

And those that disagree can avoid the thread or debate with you as they see fit.

I’m not sure what restraint is needed though. Bronco provided facts. In McCall’s first season in his 1st spell, he admitted to not bringing in the players he really wanted. He failed. The following season the budget was pushed out. He failed again. The 3rd season, the budget had to be drastically cut (including his own wage). He worked with a very small budget. He failed again and so quit. I agree with you that his 1st spell in charge was poor and that he failed. I wanted him relieved of duties AND I was one of those that didn’t want him to return.

However, having done so, he was unlucky not to get us promoted in his first season. The following season saw the budget slashed, key personnel left and yet he still managed to guide us into the top5. He had a poor 5-6 weeks, but we were still in the play-offs, despite not being backed in the summer or in the the following January. Not sure what there is to argue against here.

It’s certainly different to the backing that Collins is getting now with the signings made this summer.

So McCall had his little outburst when Parky was manager? I know he is passionate about the club but that's taking things a bit too far in my opinion. Surprised he didn't get chucked out by the stewards.
