Totally agree with your comments but thought a post welcoming him back to the club and wishing him well was needed for balance, He has been given a chance and up to him now

 

In wasn't positive about McCall, two years ago. And yes, I do think fans go negatively OTT when things don't go according to what they believe is correct. They then exaggerate the negative and it's all "we're doomed", "we're doomed" - we get no true debate and every move the club then make has some kind of sarcastic comment

I swear if we sign someone good before the deadline, half the fans on here will still moan

The questioning about Bowyer, is OTT given the position the club was when he took over, the position we are now and the endless niggling injuries we've had. It's not a "positive outlook" it's simply grounded realism. Doesn't mean to say, that I don't think the footie has largely been poor and needs to improve

 

You only have to read certain posters continual dissing the club, unfortunately the way its going there is only going to be negative or positive with nothing in between.
This thread is about a young kid trying to be positive about his return and 90% of replies are shocking.

I would have thought that signings at this time of the season should be getting into the first team rather than filling the squad.

Will he play on the left with Connolly on the right?
Will he play on the right and Connolly switch?
Is Connolly leaving?
How does Patrick feel being talked up then a guy comes in who's basically the same as him and not clearly better.

Just seems an odd signing all round.

 

Depends on the circumstance. If we meander around and show some kind of improvement towards the end of the season, then Bowyer stays. If we continue to decline, i.e. no wins in then next month - then we'll need to move on.

I stated this previously, but of course this doesn't support the my 'happy clapper' status - so is never remembered

 

I don't think you get it do you? The fans aren't having a go at Mottley Henry, i daresay most would only wish him well. If you can't see what the problem is here, and i can pretty much say you and Park are the only voices on the various social media City platforms that can't, then i can't help you. Bowyer needs to be going into Saturday with as much goodwill and positivity as possible, heck his jobs on the line. And he's given a 22 year old last playing non league. Tomorrow needs signings and good ones or else Oldham could be worse than Mansfield. I do stress could because tomorrow could at least take some of the pressure off him.

 

I am beginning to think we and I use the collective as in the club have decided to toss this season away. We allow the manager to stay who couldn’t set up an attacking team if he was given dot to dot map, Then we loan/sell the best strikers in the league even though we are short of goals. We then sign a lad who has struggled below our level. I hope does well, but hardly a signing that is going to enhance our goal scoring. That’s it, no promotion this season, unless we have purchased the magic fairy!!

What do you expect? We've just lost two of the top three scorers in the division and we bring a non league player in. We constantly punch ourself in the face as a club.

Agree about the coaching. However, Bowyer has shown enough in the recent past to have faith in his managerial credentials. I wrote the other day that he had a one win during January / February 2017 and still got Blackpool promoted

We need to be careful here. Bowyer, like it or not, will have the respect of other matches (another fact, is that he's the last manager to get Blackburn into the Top 10 of The Championship) we'll simply be seen as another crackpot sacking club and will have little chance of upgrading on him

The problem isn't that we signed DMH, it' that Mr B is a bang average manager and negative with it. So far it's been a bad transfer window with only one day to redeem our selves.

We may criticise Rupp and Rhodes with justification but the non football we play is down to Bowyer. He would play this way no matter who was in charge of the club.

I have some sympathy with Rhodes, it must be difficult getting any decent forward to sign for Bowyer, who he may regret giving the job to.

Actually some of the fans were having a go at MH - that's what's prompted my response. I'm fully aware of the problems and I will now say for the 3rd time this is turning into yet another terrible January window

Interestingly that since 2011, we've won around 5 matches (certainly less than one a month) in January and Rhodes has been in charge for all but two of those windows. And our best window, was when Rhodes wasn't here when we signed Wyke three years ago

So I get the board deserve criticism, but the "lets have a protest" brigade? Really?
