Stuart is off down South tomorrow with Kenny for a coaching thing with Southgate. This was agreed before they took the job. Stuart says in that video he was due to start on Thursday but asked if he could start on Tuesday instead.

However, with SM and KB away on weds someone needs to take City’s training - maybe Drury will do that as his last act before moving aside on Thursday, when SM and KB properly take over?

 

Wednesday is normally their day off.

 

Agree probably why it was a double session Tuesday.

 

And a double session Thursday too according to Stuart's interview.

 

The double session will be because:

1) McCall and Black might be concerned about the level of player fitness..

2) McCall has stated it's a big squad (which it is) and he is trying to get to know them quickly and getting the players to know him.

3) Goong from dire Bowyer/Drury tactics to a more exciting method of football.

 

I have been concerned about the level of fitness for sometime. I am hoping things improve. Against Oldham we looked pedestrian. Players need individual plans as we are all different, for instance Akpan is a big lad, and needs tailored training sessions. He cannot play anywhere near his optimum unless he is on top of his fitness regime.

 

Our sports scientist Ben Rome has good experience having worked previously at Sheffield United and Doncaster Rovers. I suspect that the players looked pedestrian because of the level of morale in the team and lack of confidence caused by tactics and formation as much as any physical cause.

 

Totally and ugly agree with this. The players do need individual plans.

This football is why behind the times. I hope over the next year or so it really sorts its self out.

Klopp said about the winter break that his players will be going off all over but all have their individual plans to follow delay..

Point is Bradford City needs to start learning from the best.

I watched Liverpool's under 19's batter Shrewsbury last night and it was clearly the tactics and positive mindset runs throughout the club. I was talking to our vision of Ryan Sparks and he said I don't get involved in the football side m, if the CEO has something to say he says it maybe job is the fans and improving their experience off line, online and when they get her & giving transparency.

When I was at UTD to other month I asked why they sticking with Ole(even though I do think they will sack him if they don't finish in the top 4) and it was like we need to reset, we needed a plan.We have had a scatter gun approach and that doesn't work.

Bradford City have had a scatter gun approach. When you look at teams like Swindon they're learning! Football is about attacking play now not hoof ball. As a club under Bowyer & Drury I didn't know what we were trying to achieve. The results were sometimes good but performances not. I watched our youth team and they played completely different to Bowyer's dire football.

The club needs to start learning and maybe needs a sporting director which most clubs have now. Getting your Communications man to talk for the board is highly embarrassing!

The best think about McCall coming back isn't McCall it's Black. Unfortunately, for Drury he will be remembered for the Edin time. Think it's best for Drury to leave for all parties.

 

How do we know whether or not the players have individual training / fitness plans? I suggest unless you have inside information it is guessing that we don't.

 

Becuse not once have we talked about it. Things like that come out!

You cannot assume that the players do not have personalised fitness plans because nobody has issued a press release about it or nobody has asked the club about it. You are making it up.

 

Not talking about a bloody press release.

Players have social media accounts etc. It would of come out.

Either way I don't care. To me the players don't look fit enough and haven't for a while.

 

Let's see what happens when they (hopefully) start enjoying their football again. Never underestimate the part mindset plays in physical fitness.

 

Couple of reasons for this imo, firstly the moral of the team is shot and they’re having to chase hoofballs all game. Also it’s easier to keep good fitness throughout a game if you have more of the ball, the ball should be doing most of the moving not players chasing lost causes, and being dragged side to side by teams passing us to death.

 

My other half said more or less the same thing.

so,we go from not able to afford one assistant for boreyer to two for new manager! what a bloody joke club we have become. rupp and rhodes not fit to run a car wash.

 

Until we’ve seen the lads signed from Glasgow Rangers and Stevenage, we won’t know that. But as things stand, we definitely need 1 quality defensive midfielder and they’re now going to be really hard to come by and will cost more (wages wise).
