Saturday’s normally their day off isn’t it?

 

Our sports scientist Ben Rome has good experience having worked previously at Sheffield United and Doncaster Rovers. I suspect that the players looked pedestrian because of the level of morale in the team and lack of confidence caused by tactics and formation as much as any physical cause.

 

Couple of reasons for this imo, firstly the moral of the team is shot and they’re having to chase hoofballs all game. Also it’s easier to keep good fitness throughout a game if you have more of the ball, the ball should be doing most of the moving not players chasing lost causes, and being dragged side to side by teams passing us to death.

 

Some people have a net detrimental effect rather than a positive one.

I'm not arsed on Drury. Stuart's got his own number 2 in. If he can make use of Drury, fine. If not, that's fine too.

 

No saw enough this morning to give me hope for the rest of the season.

 

Sounds like a job with the kids,to run down his contract.

You cannot assume that the players do not have personalised fitness plans because nobody has issued a press release about it or nobody has asked the club about it. You are making it up.

 

Let's see what happens when they (hopefully) start enjoying their football again. Never underestimate the part mindset plays in physical fitness.

Yes, it's called hiding. Players who don't want the ball, confidence shot, afraid to make mistakes. It's just the psychology of it. Same reason why teams that were dominating and leading 2-0 suddenly go all wibbly wobbly if the opposition pull one back. Nothing has really changed, same players, same fitness. Psychologically there's been a significant change though.

 

You been in a coma this last 18 months? I was down at training the other week as well so saw with my own eyes. I've seen more difficult drills for Sunday junior football teams. He got the boot from BPA so if that doesn't ring the alarm bells I don't what will. Every team he's coached have been a failure and they look clueless.

SM has promised if he does a good job then he may also be in charge of the toaster too

 

All about money. He was one of the coaches until Rahic gave him a new 3yr contract as Assistant Manager/Coach. I believe he still has 18mths left to run, so unless we pay him up early, we are stuck with him.

At this stage, I’d rather any funds be spent on a loanee defensive midfield player or one that is out of contract. Stuart and Kenny need all the help on the pitch that they can get, even if there isn’t a lot of help off it

 

The double session will be because:

1) McCall and Black might be concerned about the level of player fitness..

2) McCall has stated it's a big squad (which it is) and he is trying to get to know them quickly and getting the players to know him.

3) Goong from dire Bowyer/Drury tactics to a more exciting method of football.

 

What I wouldn't give for Big Geoff right now. Bloke will always be a Bradford City legend to me.

 

Wasn't that his original title before he got promoted with collins?
