I’m not wholly sure what Mottley Henry did to qualify as a League 2 player.

A lot of the argument though is for me that it seems to be players who have played for Stuart or City before. It’s lazy recruitment.

Last season’s side was lucky to finish 9th. This seasons squad isn’t radically different to last season. I’m not sure what Clarke and Sutton offer that improves the squad. You’re not signing players with a potential sell on, or someone who offers something different, it’s same old same old and expecting different results. McCall couldn’t get them playing in the short period before the season ended and we were utter shite, what‘a changed?

Good post. Just commented elsewhere on this site that Macca was a lazy appointment and that he is not exempt from criticism.

Whether DMH is fourth division or not, this signing is synonymous of our club without the foresight to nurture young talent with, as you say, the potential of a sell on.

I'm more of the thinking that our fan base need to realign one's thinking. Expecting higher league players (not those towards end of career) is an area I dont expect to see happening.

 

I have to agree having pace without an end product means zilch.
Not sure about fans happy to have a club we are realists unlike a few who believe because fans are ambitious and demand better it's a given, we have an owner who has little interest in his investment apart from saying he will try and right Rahics wrongs.
Like it or not at the moment Rupp is not going to pump his wealth into the club that my friend is reality.

Who are these 4 other strikers ? One might be Vaughan if Stuart can coax a tune out of him ?. But if your including Nogoalvak - Donaldontiho and Gutless in that number forget it !

 

Yup will support the club no matter because it is OUR club, of course we dont get everything right but over the years I have realised that is in the main what being a City fan is all about (cue a Fordy outburst!)
RC - just be aware next season is going to be a real challenge for all clubs in League 2 and below (and probably a lot in the leagues above) so just get behind them as best you can. Dont have to become a happy clapper but just realise it is not going to be a 'bed of roses' out there.
Trust me I am not just a happy clapper and I agree the quality in the squad looks pretty threadbare, but we are not done yet - who knows we might yet sign someone you actually agree with

 

Lets hope that SM sees enough in DMH to do a Marshall on him.

Lets face it any player coming into that team spirit second half of last season would struggle.

Lets see what he can do with a proven man manager behind him and a clean slate.

Well that's 3 out of McCalls suggested 5 incomings this season. 2 to go and we literally don't have a central midfielder at the club, let alone a good one.

The guys coming in so far will have been cheap, I can sort of see some sense in it, with a wage cap and everything else that’s gone on including uncertainty around fans coming back to VP, income could be very limited and we need a squad so we can put a team out. Hopefully the bigger signing or two will come later, it’s just another reality check of where we are these days.
