We need something to lift us. City fans have endured 2 years of Rahic, relegation into the khazi league and a year of Bowyer ball whilst our ‘rivals’ have been or are set to play Premiership football. To start the new era off with the signings of Sutton, Clarke and Mottley-Henry is just predictable and underwhelming.

Desperately need a top player to come in soon. Not just to lift spirits but to address a squad that is also woefully short on quality.

I hope this other old name coming back from the ‘itk’ crowed is Cooke and not someone like McMahon, Cooke and potentially Watt could be a decent pairing at this level if we get the balance right. That’s what we got right in 16/17 everyone had their role, and we stuck to our strategy instead of flapping about all over like we seemed to with Bowyer.

We need another Winger of higher quality and experience though imo, as and injury prone Ismail and DMH doesn’t strike me as a promotion striving force even if we get the centre mid right and up front. Could do with a decent RB as well.

Painful signing. He’s someone I’d expect to watch when we don’t have a game and I go watch Farsley with my old man. Pace in abundance but that’s about it. All this extra time off and we’re signing players like DMH, Stuart’s had months to scout and this is who we sign.

Seen people on twitter saying Stuart will turn him into Mark Marshall, not even clutching at straws with a statement like that, bewildering - but typical of a large section of the fan base, happy just to have a club and we have to cut our cloth accordingly etc. Unacceptable attitude from the board down to these sorts of fans, happy to stagnate and plod about in league 2.
