Cant see people finding negatives, more just questions over squad balance when everyone is fit. Reckon in January guys like Angol and Eisa will certainly be out the door. Sutton may well look to leave for game time. Young signed a 3 year deal, so if he's not getting the game time we might look to loan him out to someone for 6 months to play every week. Going to be very tough to give everyone some game time.

 

I am surprised…..So he’s going to be Walkers cover, because Walker is longer term than we first were led to believe?

 

Either way (unless it was a perm move) they were going to do that - protecting their asset - if he gets a load of assists and some goals they have the option to keep him or sell him that way unlike if his contract had just ended.

Correct. And they don't seem to realise that he's clearly improved as apparently he's had an outstanding pre-season, to such a degree fans have been making it known they think he should have been starting.

 

The reality is, there's never a squad where everyone's fit.

But it's easy to see the logic of having all these attacking members. Eisa, could be easily loaned. Walker, likely not back before Christmas.

So the main attacking characters for now, will be Chapman, Banks, Pereira, Angol and Wright plus the four 'front' men competing for those four places.

Banks is not going to be playing 90 minutes twice a week (remember there's a lot of matches before and after the world cup) Wright will be mainly a bench warmer and Angol simply is not good enough, if we're been judgemental, for a promotion push. You could also make an argument that the team could easily be successful without Cook or Oliver playing.

So whilst surprising, I can't see any negatives of any kind.

Has Rupp backed Hughes or is it our marketing team who have generated far more money than in passed seasons which allows Hughes to have a bigger squad.

 

He's used that line a couple of times. What I see as being different to previous seasons is with five subs possible now there is the comfort to make subs earlier because there are more to use later if needed.

That's good, Dion had some real tricks up his sleeve, could be the difference-maker when it comes to unlocking stubborn defences - I hope!!

 

Probably a bit of A and a bit of B. Looking at the outs from last season and the ins this year, there is no doubt the budget has been lifted and by some number which cant be solely from smart marketing. But the financial side of the business seems to be as good as it's been at the moment.

 

Welcome addition to the squad but have a feeling that Wright also will be a good signing. The addition of young players with pace and urgency will be great to watch and win games

 

Hughes is telling them what he wants, and they're doing it.

I'm sure there is some push back, but they're definitely backing him.

Big expectations on the boy to turn around the attacking third of the field. But what happens behind the final third is key to progression this season, slow build up play, across the lines but just missing that player that can unlock a defence.

Dion needs more goals/assists here at BCFC and pre season readings from Luton look positive.

 

Rupp , because the money garnered by the Marketing team could have added to the bank balance and saved for a rainy day. Rupp has said reinvest it in the squad. So it has to be Rupp.
