We were garbage against Crewe and Morecambe should have had the game won by half time we were that poor.

 

Eh?

We've conceded an average of 2 goals a game in the last 3 home games and you could argue that it should have been more.

I'm not not saying we just rip it all up and start again (although I'd definitely bring Stubbs back) but we've been far from secure at the back and I don't think any of them can complain if GA decides to replace them.

 

I would keep Chapman but bring back Platt Oduor and Cook and Lewis of course

 

The result against Crewe was “garbage” the performance wasn’t. We started poorly against Morecambe but should have won in the end. Overall the performances have been good bar Crawley

 

Well, we do know that he pulled out of training on Friday, thus making himself unavailable for Saturday's match.
Or was Graham Alexander lying in his interviews.

 

No it really was rubbish. They had half a side out and were on a poor run. If Morecambe had their shooting boots on theyd have won easy. Thats why I enjoyed last night, a different approach and we looked far better for it.

He was slow , positional play dreadful. Even his goal was a cross ..,and a terrible one too.

Last night was very little different , however he did get two decent crosses in .

He’s disappointed since coming back in imho.

 

Unfortunately that’s how it works. We wouldn’t gain anything by saying Jake wants to leave, only for the deal to fall through and he becomes a hated figure for the remainder of his contract. If you put yourself in his shoes, he was being offered to all and sundry not 6 months ago, and although Hughes and Hodges left, the coaches and CEO who would have been in agreement are still here. I sensed his reluctance return when he posted leaving videos to the Swindon fans and hasn’t mentioned anything to us about looking forward to coming back and kicking on. I doubt Sparks will openly advertise we want to sell, because of the disruption it causes.

 

His goal on Saturday was ment if you watch it closely he looks up at keeper then flicks it over him definitely not a cross

 

Im not suggesting he played at all well Tony, the point I’m making he did sufficient to keep their three occupied at the back, leaving Pointon, Chappy and to a lesser degree Gilly the room to cut through their middle. It must have happened four or five times during the game. Even the Derby forum commented how we tore them one running through the lines.

“ With decent finishing they could have had three” was one comment.

 

Really, I couldn’t see that on the box ….all too well.

Read their forum RT, many many quotes saying it was their best 11 on for the second half all who will play in their next L1 game. We sometimes rightly rant about Cookie but their Centre Forward Collins , was kept in Stubbs’s pocket for the entire game. He resorted to the elbow twice in frustration. They were gash, I was stunned to see them third! I can only put it down to a bad day at the office, a really really bad day.

 

He didn’t post leaving videos to the Swindon fans, Swindon media team did using snips of OLD interviews. “ I’m buzzing to be here” , recorded at the time of his arrival in the summer. Please don’t fall for that nonsense. Watch the “ Thank You “ video again, and you will see exactly what I mean.

Good result for us last night obviously and especially with the £110k we've generated from the competition thus far as at our level that should go along way in helping GA to shape our squad with some of his own signings before we fully judge him, some comments on here recently on GA I think have been a bit harsh considering he didn't put this squad together. Also I see Ridehalgh seems to be getting criticism from many too which I also think is harsh but you have to be realistic and consider that he is a left back who's squad place is back up to wing back Richards, so how much of our budget do you expect to blast on a back up left back? I'm sure Richards will be straight back in when fit and ready and rightly so, and we should try and develop him with him being young.

 

Can agree with that, I would have expected better for a team bringing on Hourahane and Mendez Laing. That said I thought our shape was the best it's been for some considerable time, due mainly to having outlets such as Chapman and Pointon who can genuinely hurt teams with their technical ability. I thought Pointon especially was excellent, his close control and ability to visualise quickly what's around him gives us the ability to bring others into play. That was the difference for me, our abilty to respect possession of the ball.
