Fair play to the team. Well done.

I hope GA now gives more opportunities to those who did well tonight and freshens up the team a bit more.

 

Good performance and I certainly enjoyed watching it. Absolute night and day to the weekend because we actually played football.

Chapman and Pointon were excellent. Really lively and always positive when they got the ball. So refreshing seeing two attacking players get the ball and commit defenders. Their performance makes their lack of recent game time even more staggering. There's no justification for them not to start on Saturday now.

Mention to McDonald too who I thought was really good.

 

On way home the lads did us proud tonight.

 

I thought we looked so much better for having technically comfortable players in the side - Pointon, Chapman, McDonald. And whilst he had a ropey few weeks, Stubbs is our best CB in my book. I’d like to see us line up like this at the weekend:

Platt Stubbs Tomkinson
Halliday McDonald Smallwood Gillead
Chapman Cook Pointon

Halliday and Gillead in the wingback roles. Not much mobility in CM, but decent ability to control possession, and with Pointon and Chapman working in those half spaces around Cook.

Having Pointon and Chapman meant we actually tried to pass the ball tonight, in stark contrast to Saturday where it launch it toward the area at all costs. Thought as a result we respected possession tonight far better and looked a far better side for it. How he lines up on Saturday i have no idea but i'll be honest i much prefer us when we try and play football as we have players at this level who can play a bit if given the ball to feet.

 

Yes, I'm one of those because I live 180 miles away but buy a season ticket to support the club.

That was a far better performance than Saturday, all night tried to play on the grass, possibly going long late in the game cracking result, you have a few calls to make now Graham......................

Completely agree, it really grinds my gears the stuff thats been said. I'm guessing none of us know the lad personally or his circumstances. As i see he owes the club nothing and vice versa. I wish the lad nothing but the best whether he stays or goes.

 

Nah, that comment shows that some people don't have a clue but it most certainly wasn't Paul Jewell.

 

That's exactly the reason I am going. Done the Baseball Ground many times, boy what a tough place that was to visit.

I'm not one bit bothered about loyalty points but am of visiting the new Derby ground

 

Baffling that GA has constantly picked Osadabe & Odour over Chapman & Pointon

 

I hope he gets a loan move somewhere this window to get some game time. I've liked the look of him when I've seen him play but I don't see him fitting into GA's plans anytime soon.

 

To be fair, Derby had some pacey forwards last night and I thought both Stubbs and Taylor dealt with them very well.
