    Were all guilty of moaning at some time but every now and again things you encounter or hear in life puts things in perspective.This breaking story is one of those moments.

    Terrible news.

    As others have said, it puts other things into perspective.

    Thoughts with him and his family. Having lost one of my childhood friends to this awful condition a few years ago, my heart goes out to them.

    Absolutely brilliant. I wonder if @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler could influence this in view of his stature, and contacts ?

    First and foremost for Darby and his family - but also to show just what 'belonging' to a Club actually means, as fans.

    Got to add my best wishes and support for a guy who had such a rapport with us fans. Any one remember him having a champers too many at Stamford Bridge and falling about a coach with us fans?

    This is just the worst news. Derby was a wonderful, hard working player, and an exceptional captain. Never once did I see him where he had not given his all for City. If anybody wanted to know in all 4 leagues what it takes to be a professional, look no further than Stephen Derby No. 1 professional.

    He and his family have a hard road ahead, and I wish them all nothing but love and the support of this city fan. I lost my brother in law with this terrible disease.

    Very much so, loz.

    I'm not sure if the FA have rules on 'testimonials', and I'm loathe to use the word 'charity' - BENEFIT sounds more appealing.
    Perhaps a game where two teams are selected - One comprising City players who were part of City's squad during his time with us, and the opposing side from his other Clubs squads ?
    Also would it be feasible to run a 'Sponsor a goal' type fund ? Say for £1 pg - I very much doubt it would end 0 - 0 ;)
