We certainly need changes if for nothing else to freshen up what looked a tired side yesterday, I'm becoming a little worried with regards Derbyshire what we were given to believe was a couple of weeks is now a month plus, he was looking like forming a decent partnership with Cook so fingers crossed he might get game time Tuesday night or against Grimsby.
Walker has got to be a doubt after his early injury he never got into the game so I can see Banks getting a start, as for someone along side Cook Hughes has limited options does he stick with the kid Costelloe (which wouldn't suprise me) or put Oliver up top with Cook and Gilliead in a similar role as he played second half getting crosses into the box, or once again have Cook as our lone striker.

Getting the ball into the box as quickly as possible right from the off on Tuesday might well unsettle Carlisle and in that case, I’d play both Banks and Chapman out wide in replacement for Costelloe and Walker. In addition I’d put Oliver alongside Cook and support him in not having to be the only target man, in replacement for Smallwood, so leaving Gillead alongside Clayton.

It’s unlikely, I just don’t see Smallwood been dropped, but let’s see.....

If I were a betting man I say Smallwood is a sure thing.

Interesting and most certainly correct point about Walker - since he did a back heel pass to keep the ball in play early in the match, he was hobbling for a few minutes and never seemed to get into the game after that, definitely looked like he was playing with an injury.

Had Hughes had a bit more courage to take Walker (injury) and Costello (poor performance) off in the first half my hunch is that we may have won the game.

Interesting piece by Rod Liddle, Millwall fanatic in the Sunday Times yesterday. He went to the Carlisle / Stevenage game on Saturday and clearly didn't think much to either of them although thought Callum Guy was Carlisle's best player but as a generality "all they did was lump it to Omari Patrick upfront".

I hope they come and go for the three points as I don't fancy watching us have 70% possession and the ball being knocked around by our back 5, I watched the game myself after getting home and as you say hardly a classic.

Perhaps but there are loads of ways to win a football match. Callum Guy was decent when here. He is much younger and athletic than our centre midfielders which is a concern. Both Carlisle and Stevenage deserve to be where they are at this stage of the season. It’s up to us to grasp the nettle and string some wins together. Results over pretty football any day.
