He’s still learning but sadly it’s at our cost, he isn’t what we need this season and won’t be buy game 46 and potentially 49. I wouldn’t be happy if I were Oliver being behind him on the team sheet today, even despite coming back from injury. We really need to freshen things up on Tuesday and he should be the first name dropped.

 

I initially thought that there was a good player in there.
However, having seen all his games so far I am now of the opinion that he's not for us.
He runs around a lot but hell, in the penalty area he is clueless, Vincent Kompany sold Mark Hughes are right old fairy tale there.
His free header miss, from the corner of the six yard box was nothing short of embarrassing and he should have been pulled a lot sooner than he was.
I wouldn't even select him in the match day squad except for emergency's.
I just hope that Matt Derbyshire is fit again very very soon.

 

Young is never gonna get a look in, he'd be better off asking for a transfer. Periera way down the pecking order.but did make the bench. Both West Ham and Burnley will expect their players to get some game time. Derbyshire here for 18 month isn't gonna want to be sat in the stand. Yet we are desperate for a.central midfielder.

 

No disrespect to the young lad, but why is he starting in place of player who has 16 goals to his name and whose goals are the primary reason we find ourselves in the playoffs? Whatever fans think of the pros and cons of Andy Cook, to not pick him while we need goals is just bewildering.

 

Just need a midfielder now. And possibly a left back.

 

Don't particularly like slating young players, but enough is enough now. He needs dropping to bench. Hopefully Derbyshire will be back for the run-in and stays fit.

 

I remember watching Burnley at start of season and he stood out then granted they’ve signed a few more so putting him down the pecking order but he should be a class act in league 2

 

People seem worried about the amount of players but this is how it was before, with Costelloe replacing Harratt, Derbyshire replacing Angol and Nevers replacing Wright - it's clearly the make up of the squad he wants

Yep, very frustrated with the current situation. With the budget we've clearly been given I just think we should be doing much, much better and I'm dreading having to spend yet another season in this god awful division.

 

He picks and chooses when he wants to work hard.

Going forward he’s enthusiastic and tries.

When he gives away the ball, loses a battle, or has a pass intercepted, he never does the dirty work in chasing back, his head drops, throws his arms about and he sulks. Horrendous attitude.

 

How can this be true? They are completely conflicting descriptions.

Sadly for Costelloe his finishing has really let him down today and in recent games there’s been periods where his level of experience has shown. However IMO some of the stick he’s received has been unfair and over the top. Morais put it perfectly today, he just needed to be subbed and take him out of the limelight. For his and our sake think Hughes needs to do the right thing and drop him to the bench on Tuesday. If fit, I’d actually like to see Oliver start alongside Cook and see Banks and Chapman starting out wide. Won’t happen though......

 

I wonder if Gregg Abbott had anything to do with this signing!

 

I think Dara works extremely hard for the team but it just won't happen for him Infront of goal, perhaps it's time he was benched on Tuesday opening the door for someone else to try their luck.

Just heard about this on the Radio, Radio, i'm sure he can come in and pump it up, just hope he's not last years model. Wonder if he's bringing his Girlfriend Alison with him.

Also heard he really wanted to go to Plymouth to wear their Green Shirt.

 

And with the exception of Lee Angol, they are here to stay. Unless they end up in Palestine, over run by the Chinese line, with the boys from the Mersey and the Thames and the Tyne.

 

So the lad had interest from a championship and a league 1 club, but chose us.
I suppose it could have been a distance thing, nearer to home. I am not buying the T and A bluff that everyone at Burnley are ex Hughes players, so are doing us a favour.

Should be making the keeper at least save the shots today. Time for him to have a break based on todays lethargic performance.
