A handful of players across a couple of years under different managers and a different CEO. Yep evidence enough there to see the sky's about to fall down. Brace yourselves.

Wow I didn't know Charlie was doing as well as this scoring for Sunderland, I wonder if those nuppties are still accusing him of being a plank.

Sunderland's Charlie Wyke took his season tally to 30 goals with a double before Accrington bounced back to claim a point in an entertaining draw.

Looks like Rowe played the full game. Draw. Manager not happy with the attacking players.

They weren’t the only ones. Go back and have a read what the Sunderland fans were saying about him in that first season. Oh for the days when we had a 20+ goals a season striker, 15 would be good. If you don’t have that you tend not to go up.

McGeady 14 assists for the season (probably mostly to Wyke). He’s a winger. I think I remember what one of those is, but it’s only a hazy memory.

McGeady is too good for league 1, his salary will be eye watering for that level too.

Too group good for L1 but only when he feels like it is what A Black Cats fanatic told me. You're right about his salary, they've tried to get rid several times in the last 2 years but he's refused offers as they were too low. This was the case with a lot of their playing staff, happy to sit in the stand and read their Bank statements.

That's the clubs fault for giving them the contract, not the players fault for wanting it paid.

I think that a lot of football supporters feel that clubs pay players beyond what they can afford and many also have huge numbers on their books. The current rules which supposedly govern/limit how much a club can pay on players seems to be a token gesture.
If my memory is correct a former owner suggested they wanted to reduce the basic salary and that more money was available based on performance.
When you see the ‘Big Six’ suggesting that they need more money, hence the ESL idea and players seeking weekly sums which most employees of big supermarkets would be lucky to get over 30 years, then something is wrong and it is when ‘market’ forces verge on becoming obscene.

Exactly. And 14 assists to a striker who is leading the scoring charts, shows that he justifies his wage. Take him away, and maybe they wouldn’t be pushing for promotion.

See he is knocking them in for fun at Chesterfield. Oh hang on. But he did hit the ball really hard V Hartlepool apparently.

Watched most of the game and Hartlepool were a class outfit on the day, it reminded me of his time at Valley Parade where most knew given the service he could score but once again Chesterfielfd offered little going forward and offered even less defensively.

Post after post gloating about our ex strikers not scoring goals while completely ignoring the fact that our whole team hasn't managed a single one in our last 4 home games.

You're getting Park-esque with your posting these days KB.

wouldn’t be that bad if we were banging them in but since he left we have scored one, yep ONE, goal between the whole team

Finally broke his duck tonight with Chesterfierld's fourth goal, his mere presence is firing the spireites into the playoffs.
    Who'd have thunk it.
They are in the midst of some easy games at the season's end.
How did City's playoff push go again?
