I post exactly what I said with regards Cummings trip to Durham and commented "and even stupider with regards his Barnard Castle story" and highlighted it so you could see I was not defending Cummings as your above post suggests, quote, "Strikes me that some on here, are apologists actually defending him" and you then mention General Election and Brexit not me, unbelievable Rod.

 

Well, unfortunately neither Durham police or the Met feel the same!

Durham have said only the Barnard Castle trip broke the rules. They were aware of the original trip from London at the time and did nothing. The second drive they said if they had stopped him they would have recommended ending the journey and going back to his residence.

He isn't going anywhere Boris has backed Cummings we have far more important things to worry about, the main one IMO being if there is any negative reaction from the easing of lockdown, let's hope that's not the case.

 

problem with the easing is that it takes at least a couple of weeks for any changes to filter through into the numbers but by that time they are already discussing the next relaxation

 

Not at the time that Farage started being given regular slots on Question Time. It was definitely a fringe issue then. Obviously it wasn't by the time of the referendum.
Anyway, we've moved away from the point of my post, which was that those on the right of politics believe that the BBC is full of lefties. Those on the left have been complaining about right wing bias at the BBC for decades. They can't win.

I think you are getting mixed up. There's no doubt that Cummings went to Barnard Castle. He's admitted it. It's the report that he went a second time that now appears to have been exposed as false.
There are now reports emerging from several witnesses that he was seen walking in the town centre on his wife's birthday, which he said he hadn't. Unlikely that they are all lying.

 

Unless like the arsehole who admitted they did it for a laugh , suprising how many people " suddenly " spotted him , bet most of these had very little idea of what he looked like prior to the " outrage " . however it's dressed up it's all bollox , the " disgusted " labour MP who was outraged at cummings resigned her front bench position because basically she was being 2 faced and broke lockdown rules to visit her married shag partner , the original " outraged " member of the public drove 500 miles to pick his daughter up from her boyfriends home , more example of double standards .

 

Yes, some people break the rules and some people exhibit double standards. And that happens amongst the public and some politicians of all political persuasions. No one is trying to say that those things don't matter.

The bit that you seem either unable, or unwilling, to grasp is that those at the heart of government, especially those involved in composing the clear and simple rules, have an obligation to stick to them. If they don't it gives the green light to every selfish d!ckhed to chooses to ignore them.

I haven’t been to the beach but I don’t blame the general public for it either, as stupid as some are. Direct your anger at the government. They are allowing it. The beaches were empty for weeks on end in lockdown

 

The reply at the press conference should have been, I did what I did at the time in the best interest of my family, so if people feel I have done wrong then I apologise.
With an apology it would have been a seven day wonder, unfortunatly for Cummings now it won't go away and every chance the media get to resurrect it they will, looking at the man I'm not sure he cares.

Dont believe the pictures you are seeing in the media. The view is changed to suit their agenda probably fed to them by the government.
