COVID-19

The medics have conflicting options, last week some were saying if you get it youre not immune and you could get it again, now they are saying having had it you couldn't get it again.
For me do as you normally do personal hygiene washing hands and covering your mouth if you sneeze etc, life can't stop because you might get this virus.

 

Can't wait for this to blow over. Causing me havoc at work. The press and social media are scaremongering for something of nothing. I've had to be on the phones to try and cope with demand for Coronavirus questions. Just to tell them it's business as usual until told otherwise.

 

Same boat, becoming hard work.

 

I might be showing my age here, but does anyone remember the little bloke who used to own Bolton Junction fish shop circa 1980, and used to wiggle his ears at you. Looked a bit like Bobby Ball

I'm heading to Dublin on Friday the 13th for the weekend. Will be one expensive week if my horses don't come in at Cheltenham next week. Was 7/8 euros a pint last time I went in the main part of town.

 

Never actually been to this shop so cannot comment on owners ears

That seems to be the case, you're right. Early days though and they know very little about this virus.

What I would say though, is look at the significant, almost extreme level of reaction in terms of preventative measures being taken - even in the face of huge impact to the economy - and its still spreading quickly. Within a couple of weeks we've gone from '1st confirmed case' to 'we're moving out of contain to delay' - and we're an island!!

When the day comes where a new virus is spawned, but one more lethal yet just as contagious and resilient as this one - we're all f*cked.

Yeah I get that part. But does the government not have a duty to protect those people? How about people with cancer? Or as you say those over the age of 65?
The virus will kill people if not contained. If we can contain it and protect those groups, why would we not do that?

 

I've watched a couple of survivalist programs and the american nutjobs have it right.

They all think itll be Jesus v Lucifer or a Zombie Apocolyse, so they're obviously loony about the cause but they'll probably have the last laugh

 

Madness bulk buying?
Called in supermarket tonight (for washing powder) and it was very noticeable anti-bacterial products lacking on the shelves including soap, handwash and surface anti-bacterial wipes.

 

Apparently my workplace is starting temperature screening for everyone entering the premises next week. Our first aiders are to be stationed at the main gate with a non contact thermometer..... I presume those running hot will be turned away.
