    Just make it first come, first served. Those who are frail or elderly or with respiratory illnesses will be at the back anyway. Survival of the fittest and all that!

    I'm sure there'll be some on here who would support that approach without a second thought. :mad:

    We all just need to follow the advice on personal hygiene and use hand gel when you can’t wash. Keep you hands off your face, destination washing if you go somewhere wash or gel, on return to your home wash your hands before taking your coat off. If you can’t get your hands on hand gel try surgical spirit. In your own home should you have visitors was down all surfaces with hot soapy water and bleach.

    we wil just have to keep our fingers crossed that it is not as bad as predicted.

    The fatality rate is not 2-3% everywhere, in Korea it's 0.6% (5621 cases - 33 dead) Lots of variables and we have a superb health service. Scaremongering and misinformation (Facefart & Twitter) will lead our fear crazed, panic shopping population to do stupid things, like hurtle to the GP and/or hospital instead of staying calm, staying home and ringing 111. I'll be damned if the reaction (hysteria) does not cause more human pain than the virus, one which we are well overdue.

    We all can read the very same information, read and assess the risks and then evaluate them differently, that's why people wear magic hats on bicycles.

    What you (and a number of other people) seem to be unable to grasp is that that percentage means absolutely nothing. The death rate is deaths per confirmed case of Covid-19. GIven that over 80% of those infected with the strain get very mild symptoms, many of which wont even realise they have it and therefor not report it, the death rate is vastly over inflated.

    In fact, earlier this evening an expert on Channel 4 News said the death rate figure is more likely to be well under 1%, and that only those in the UK over the age of 65 and those with any type of immune deficiency should be concerned by the virus at this stage.

    @Idlebantam@Idlebantam - been here just over 17 years. Anyway, airline emailed me yesterday, letting me know I could cancel or change flight dates with no fees. Sod 'em, heading over. Need some Bolton Junction fish and chips and some proper beer.

    The thing is though its not the death percentage that's the problem but the rate of infection. It has the potential to kill way more people than more lethel virus like SARS simply because it transmits with relative ease (They say on average each person who has it passes it onto 2.5 others). Without shutting every single person into a room that they can't get out off then stopping it spreading is hard

    Chip shop still there at Bolton Junction by the way, but Junction pub is an Asian boutique now.

    So when those that have been diagnosed with coronavirus have got through it and recovered does the number of those reported to be infected go down by 1 ? and if not, why not ?
