    I'd take the Iranian figures with a pinch of salt, but there is good evidence, from China, that a strong lockdown can work.

    We continue to laugh and say it won’t effect us. I’d say get the lockdown in early enough and we can manage this easily. Instead we will do the British thing and wait it out thinking it won’t have an impact and then it’s too late

    Would that lock down include not being able to watch city if so I'm all for it starting in the next 2minutes.

    Lockdown what, who, when and where though. It is pointless having a lockdown until a certain area becomes seriously affected. such as the regions in Northern Italy.

    Spoke to my business associate in Milan today

    He says people are flouting the rules , they are still using the restaurants and going for aperitif as usual

    They are supposed to remain in there own villages but there are no police checks and this is not happening

    He thinks they are not taking seriously enough

    Government are thinking of bringing in 7 day self isolation for anyone with just a fever or signs of respiratory tract infection

    Well no and yes.

    An effective lockdown, before an area becomes seriously affected, would work. However, the keyword is effective and if people aren't concerned enough to comply with a lockdown, then it will fail.

    I get the impression that is how the government are thinking. They do not believe people will accept a lockdown until things get much worse. So we will implement small changes, bit by bit, and hope for the best, but expect the worst.
