We reacted so god dam slow.

Do think other countries are now planning on moving forward.

Has Boris told no one to leave the country yet? Australia have banned outgoing flights.

They all have extended lead of 5-7 days for the Next Day extra payment as the likes of DHL/UPS/DPD and even the crap ones like Yodel are overloaded. After all I did shop around first and when Amazon were saying next day when I ordered it and the rest were saying a week, were charging more for the product and wanted a £6 delivery fee on an Item under £20 it made no sense

And I'll blame the government because why exactly does anyone need to go and buy alcohol? They don't. Infact sitting at him getting drunk is the last thing the NHS needs people to be doing right now. Other countries deemed places that are selling computer equipment as essential for people to work so allow them to stay open.

Is going walking in the peak district really all that bad. It's outside in wide-open spaces where you can stay the required distance from others. I would say you are more likely to get infected doing you 1 daily piece of exercise we are allowed to go outside to do where you are going to a local park with the overcrowding they are now seeing or walking down the street where the road and the narrowness of the pavement often takes your choice to keep the required distance away from you

The lead time for delivery you are quoting is wrong, the target for delivery is still next day with most couriers. I think you missed the point, if you really NEED whatever you are after, IT places are open PC world are still delivering online. What £20 item is so essential that you need it same day?

The reason Amazon have changed the delivery dates is because they can't keep up the demand, they normally offer a fulfilled by Amazon service where a seller would send their product to an Amazon warehouse and they would do the logistics. They can't because they are that stretched, that isn't the government's fault that you can't get your product.

The last 2 weeks in the world of IT supply has been like nothing the industry has ever seen before and it still on going, but the fact you can't get a product isn't the goverments fault.

Whilst it's true the goverment hasn't got everything right should we expect them to get it all right in the time scale? For its important when something doesn't go to plan, we react quickly and we seem to be doing ok. It's a thankless task at the best of times and the situation we are in now even more so.

The instructions on what to do is quite clear, moronic people not listening to them and taking it as a free holiday is something else.

If the couriers are claiming to try and get it delivered next day then someone should tell the retailers as that's not the delivery window they are stating.

And I was ordering a Display Port cable after mine stopped working. Needed a 10m but could have moved the PC closer for a short period of time so any would have done. Without it my options for screen is to try and work via my Oculus Rift S VR headset

And for the record this is in stock, labelled dispatched and sold by Amazon, it was saying next day delivery when I ordered it, it's still showing as in stock now and delivering tomorrow but got put back to end of April after paying. To show how in stock it is when I complained and demanded my £79 Amazon prime money back last night where able to get it dispatched and delivered today but it shouldn't need people to complain to get items they need to keep earning a living. This arbitrary decision of what is and isn't essential is ridiculous. If anything on my PC breaks be it a cable like this time or the CPU, GPU or Mobo goes getting replacements quick is essential for me to work.

Yepp our peak is about a month or two away yet on current estimates, however because of how slow we've been and the ignorance of the general populace, shits gonna start getting real very quickly now.

I dont believe so but I could be wrong as a friend of mine who's visa ran out and was due to be deported's flight was cancelled the other day.

Yes it is they are idiots the government and their advisors have been very clear that we should stay at home. All these people are doing is putting the already strained emergency services.under more pressure by forcing them to deal with them and encouraging others to have the same thoughts that you've just outlined. The message has been clear.

    • 55 new cases (of which 54 imported), 5 new deaths, and 537 new discharges occurred in China on March 26, as reported by the National Health Commission (NHC) of China

China boarders closed down now stopping anyone coming in

They have also said we are allowed out for a single session of exercise so again how is it any worse going and doing that in a wide open space than going for a walk/run in your average town/city. If I go out right now to have an hours walk as my allowed exercise I have little choice but to go along a fairly narrow pavement alongside a main road where I’m going to have no choice but to be closer than 6 feet to someone at some point

I saw a response elsewhere that a reason why travel via car to an open space to 'exercise' is a bad idea because it still creates a likelihood of contact by means of:
    1) You need to fuel your car, so there's potential for unnecessary contact there.
    2) If you have an accident, there's certainly unnecessary contact and diversion of emergency services resoruces there
    3) It creates a level of traffic volume that doesn't help with the mobility of critical resources and inflames a perception that people can continue to mobilise as normal.

But still the government gave a date for MOT's rather than saying we are stopping them now!

    This government is woolly as!

I’d say it depends, if you live there if course not as we’re still being encouraged to exercise. But if you travel 50 miles to get there then it is bad. I saw a family we’re sent packing by the police yesterday as they were driving to the beach and it’s non essential travel. You should now only be driving if you need to go shopping or to work, it’s not that difficult to understand but some are still struggling. When I go for my once a day exercise I just go for a walk around my local area, it’s not always easy to keep a distance if someone is coming the other way, but I just make sure no cars are coming and walk in the road. It’s not that difficult people just need to use their brains, and some common sense.

It’s not nice or ideal but it won’t last forever, the more people congregate at beaches and places like the Peak District the more time this will go on for.

Global pandemic, health systems in many countries being overwhelmed, people losing jobs, businesses folding, the economy in indefinite turmoil, schools closing, the most vulnerable in society being made even more vulnerable, people dying, armed forces being mobilized, retired health care and law enforcement professionals being brought back into service...… and you're sniping about the clarity of when people need to have their MOTs done.

    Classic Fordy.
