I know that the figures are lower over a weekend/bank holiday but, yes, it's another significant milestone and a testament to the scientists who developed the vaccines.

I hope that those governments who have invested heavily in the vaccines now go on to invest in the development of vaccines/treatments for other conditions because, with those sorts of levels of investment, many more lives can be saved or dramatically improved.

Ravi Gupta has just been given a platform on Channel 4 news.

He was speaking from a huge room in his no doubt massive detached house telling us all how we should wait for the loosening of restrictions.

Not too sure he would be coming to that conclusion if his business was not allowed to open and family members were facing redundancy.

Thankfully Iain Duncan Smith was on to point out that the risk assessment isn't one sided, yes we have to deal with Covid but not throw everything else under the bus to do so.

Now that it’s glaringly obvious the easing of lockdown will be delayed, I’m certain it’ll still be 25% capacity come August which includes all the players and staff etc, so that’s 5,500 fans. With away fans, we’re probably talking the very most 5,000 City fans as a best case scenario.

If it is restricted to that level, which I don’t think it will, away fans will not be allowed.

Still think it will be at least 50% but maybe with a negative test before.

I wouldn’t be so sure, both sets of fans have been allowed at the neutral games thus far ie Play-off finals, FA Cup Final

Best get your Pampers out because restrictions will be ending 21st June. With or without the governments consent.

135,000 fans attended the Indy 500 this weekend and meanwhile we have the BBC putting anyone on air who can make the leap from 3k positive tests from 1m tests taken to suggest a third wave.

There was a slight increase in April when restrictions were loosened, then again in May. It’s to be expected as more people come face to face with each other. The good news is deaths and hospitalisations continue to fall overall. One scientist said we should move it back a month, which would still be 3 weeks before the start of the season so not sure where your figures are from.

Cheer up mate the vaccines are doing their jobs, some normality is on the horizon. If you’re that scared maybe go buy a biohazard suit to be safe.

The BBC seem to be actively campaigning for a lengthening of restrictions regardless of what is actually happens.

Now we've hit zero deaths it will be interesting too see what happens when they inevitability increase.

If 10 were announced tomorrow they would probably paint it as a 2000% increase on the previous 2 days, as we averaged 0.5 deaths per day.

With the vaccines proving so effective against all the current known variants, I struggle to see how we are going to get a third wave; a third blip definitely (and that is already happening, due to the easing of restrictions and the B.1.617.2 variant), but nothing like as bad as before.

The main problem, at the moment, is the significant number of under 45s being admitted to hospital in the so called hot spots (due to the surge in the B.1.617.2 variant), but this should quickly come under control, as the vaccine rollout continues.

We may not be completely home and dry, but we are in a far, far better place than we were.

There will be a wave of infections no doubt, maybe even a wave of hospitalisations.

But the big question is what level of deaths can society tolerate for the majority to live normal lives. Given that the answer clearly isn't 'zero' it's the next choice we have to make.

It probably wouldn't register if there were 30,000 a year, maybe slightly more.

I would expect deaths to be way below that number in a 'fully' vaccinated population.
