Questions being asked as to whether this restriction impacts pubs, restaurants. I dont believe it does - my take is that you can go to such places within your household but not use those venues to meet with other households. For example, my family of 4 can go for a meal, but not join up with another family to make it a meal for 8.

No, it's not but that is what is going to happen. The government are not handling this good at all. We have postcode data. Planet test areas in high virus area's..mobile vans. Enforcers. Leaflets. Police. Banning all in areas is going to result in a bad outcome.

    The issue is the government.

    Flip Flop more than me.

This is my take but I thought it's just in a house.

You are allowed to see your friends etc but just can't go in their house.

Apart from refusing to serve them there is nothing they can do. A shopkeepers aren't police and shouldn't be require to confront what could be a troublesome person refusing to wear a mask.

The announcement references different households not meeting indoors, including at pubs and restaurants. I think that's what's cause a few to be confused and assume it means those venues will close. I dont see that being the case as it'd have been made clear in the announcement. I think it means that you can only use those facilities for people in your own house.

Thought we can now create a second bubble with another household? What happens there?

Indoors isn't it? So you still meet them in a pub garden for example.

I just can't see how the government can enforce this either way.

    Was trying to find out where the boundaries with Bradford are with the household restrictions;

On twitter someone posted all the way to and including Skipton, which i think is in north yorks but has a bradford postcode.
Another twitter sez if your bins are collected by Bradford council, then thats you.
But Skipton bins are emptied by north yorks?
(* i dont live in skipton)
At the other end i take it they go through Queensbury,Denholme and into Halifax and beyond.

We've adhered to all the Gov guidelines throughout but we wont be adhering to this !. Everyone knows who this lockdown is aimed at and no coincidence it preludes their religious celebrations tomorrow. Throughout the 18-24 age group in these communities have flouted the rules. Gathering in groups; out and about on the streets; in and out of large populated family homes with elders in residence. If you not in that demographic carry on as you were. Basically the lockdown is BD1.

    I agree.

There is a lot of 'everybody knows who this is aimed at' guff - based on mortality rates among BAME communities, I assume - but you only have to look at the fact that places like Wilsden, Harden and Cullingworth are NOT amongst the postcodes that have seen zero Covid deaths - and yet Girlington is.

Once again, the white privileged convince themselves it's not their fault, despite the problem being SPREAD.

yeah tbf its not the asian communitys 'fault' most likely, other factors go into it. a lot of asian families live in inter generational households, and as with other ethnic minorities are more likely to work in high risk professions such as being a taxi driver or cleaner etc. unless theres solid evidence the asian community at large are flouting restrictions that isnt just anecdotal, we can't say anything like that.

No way has Girlington not had a Covid death ? As for Wilsden; Harden and Cullingworth the population is older and indeed have care settings sited there so if anyone has passed they just write "Covid" on the certificate.

The reason for the lockdown today is due to rising figures in the last week. Covid deaths that have happened since March are no indicator, intact many areas with an elderly age group would do far worse regarding deaths as they are far more prone to being killed by the virus.

The figures for positive cases in the last week are below and any not listed are either 2 or under.

    Bankfoot - 4

    Wibsey St Enoch's - 3

    Horton Bank - 9

Great Horton and Brackenhill - 10

    Canterbury - 6

    Holme Top - 10

    Shearbridge & University - 32

    Brown Royd - 11

    Fairweather Green - 11

    Allerton - 11

    Chellow Heights - 7

    Toller Lane & Infirmary - 17

    Girlington - 18

    Manningham & Lister Park - 4

    Central Bradford & Barkerend West - 6

    Undercliffe - 9

    Broomfields & East Bowling - 3

    Barkerend East - 12

    Thornbury - 19

    New Pudsey - 3

    Saltaire & Baildon West - 4

    Idle - 3

Keighley Oakworth Road and West Lane - 11

Keighley Central and East - 4

Riddlesden and East Morton - 4

    Cleckheaton - 4

    Heckmondwike Town, Norristhorpe & Roberttown - 3

    Heckmondwike North - 10

Let's not get this twisted. It is BAME community, it's the asian community.

Look it's the government and the council fault as the postcode data is there for all to see. Why not enforce tests in them locations or educate? Go door to door knocking do heat testing and ask the people the questions? The council should have all the household information.

In other countries they do this.

Point is what are we all trying to achieve? I just don't get want the government LOOKS GOOD looks like with this virus. We have no vaccine and I said from the start that we don't want to ruining the economy. As soon as the economy is ruined then you are creating a far bigger problem.
