People need to understand that a point a change will happen. I honestly don't get why people are go defensive of a party. You can only judge a government in charge and this one so far as been woeful.

It really shouldn't be a matter of who is the Labour leader they could have Humpty Dumpty as leader and they should be in front in the polls, if people think it's as bad as your saying Boris and the Tories are doing.

The gap was massive. The 1st thing to do is close is and they have done.

Never knew you were are Maggie follower...Too young me to care about politics and gave a damn to be a blue or red.

Read the other day that tables have turned and many rich now back labour and the poor conservatives.. Maybe, that's why I am edging to the reds ;)

That's the point its not because of what Labour have done more that people think the Tories haven't done, with regards Covid-19.
Who knows I may be back to my Red days in 2025 if I'm still around.

Yeah, agree but Labour don't have to do anything mate at this moment. The gap has closed and it's a case of them just doing what they're doing and watch the conservatives mess themselves up. Then in 2 years start really going for it.

As, you say a lot can change in by 2025 but already I have gone from Labour can't win the next election to they have a massive chance because Boris isn't a leader.

    From the Beeb;

"Meanwhile, Public Health Wales (PWH) said about 300 workers "have not yet presented for testing" at a Wrexham food factory which has had 166 cases."

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-53210387

Doesn't bode well for the Welsh Government's "Test, trace, protect" does it?

I honestly think this is a massive problem. I will slag off the government but businesses need to do more. Until businesses operate a little bit like the PL(football) then this is always going to be a problem. Businesses of more than 100 employees should have to pay for testing every week or something like that.

Counting on staff to get tested themselves isn't going to work.

The major thing that they have to do as an opposition is challenge things that they believe the government are doing correctly, but not to disagree for the sake of disagreeing, voters are not stupid irrelevant of what many say.
If people do as they are told/advised and things start to turn around, the vaccine looks positive and they can get it in circulation as soon as the trails are conclusive, Boris will have to get brexit done and then kick start the economy, even if that mean more quantitative easing.
The economy will be his priority and rightly so, see the airlines are more than happy with the take up of holidays since the easing of lock down and the 14 day quarantine being cancelled.

I agree. During a period when we are still trying to contol the spread of Covid 19, very few things which might halt its spread are compulsory. Most things are now simply 'guidance' so it should come as little surprise to anybody when things which should be done are not happening.

Do you honestly think Momentum and Unite ( the largest contributors to labour by far ) are going to sit back and let Starmer alter the position and mandates of the Left of the Party ?. Like it or not Labour have to become a force in Scotland again to get anywhere near Government and thats not going to happen anytime soon .The old guard of Corbyn are still a powerful force within starmers party , this will become more apparent as the confrence season starts .Rebecca Long Bailey is sponsored by Unite and was endorsed by them in the leadership race , they are already organising a petition to reinstate her .

Labour were always going to get a bounce in the polls when Corbyn was replaced, They have plenty of time to self destruct before the next election,

A new strain of flu that has the potential to become a pandemic has been identified in China by scientists.
It emerged recently and is carried by pigs, but can infect humans, they say.
Just when you thought it was safe to come out :(.

The ONS have announced today that the annual death rate is below the 5 year average . All deaths are tragic but it does reflect the number of people who sadly pass away from other causes every year . I've had 12 hospital appointments cancelled since March , it kind of puts Covid into perspective , nature will always win .

So, the Leicester Lockdown. It appears that a map has been drawn with separate rules on Saturday for people within the red boundaries and those outside the red boundaries.

So those in Ratby can visit the pub, those on the other side of the motorway in Glenfield can't.

Policing this will be interesting, I mean if the rules stay as they are there is nothing stopping those in Leicester just rocking up at the beach or heading over to Nottingham where all the pubs will be reopening.

The real question is however, why are cases in Leicester at a level where they aren't across the UK, and was Matt Hancocks slip of the tounge where he mentioned Keighley as mistake or has Keighley been discussed in the upper levels of government too.

There is footage of thousands of people in the City Centre for a BLM protest 2/3 weeks ago, but is that really any different to other Cities like Manchester, London and Bristol to name a few where the same protests took place. There is no beach in Leicester and it's not a place people would flock too. Is it just local people ignoring lockdown? It would be interesting to know as many places in the UK might be just a couple of weeks behind Leicester and it would be good to know now, rather than in two weeks after new freedoms have helped spread the virus further.

Looks to me if you want your haircut, maybe head to Leicester Forest Services North, rather than South looking at that map.

And what a day to make the changes - Saturday night which just happens to be Independence Day, in the US of A. Couldn't the PM have picked a quieter time to remove the lockdown from pubs? But then I don't suppose he would have had his Independence Day strapline.

That's Independence Day as in the celebration of the Americans kicking the ar$es of the Brits and out of the US whilst stepping out from under the heels of their British oppressors. Or maybe Independence Day as in the film when Will Smith kicked the ar$es of the invading aliens with the help of a virus! OK, a computer version. I'm sure all of that isn't lost on the PM with his knowledge of great moments in history!
