Initially children will be sent home with packs that will last a week or 2. After that it will be teaching via online facilities so teachers will plan and deliver lessons probably by recorded clips I would imagine and be available for q&a during school hours. Work can be submitted electronically, marked and feedback returned.
The problem will be the children who don't have internet access or access to devices to work on but that can be sorted with laptops and mobile dongles eventually.
Don't worry, your teachers will still be teaching your kids but differently for a time.
I worry about the children on free school meals and hope they have plans in place to distribute meals.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...BradfordBanter, Bantamsteve, RCarol and 4 others like this. -

As a Brexiteer, I admit that exit talks now have to be put on the backburner as it is way down the list of priorities right now. If that means a further delay of 12 months, so be itConnecticutBantam, MallorcaBantam, shoatsy and 4 others like this. -
Confirmed closing on Friday now and no end point in sight. There's a lot of very vulnerable children out there that have lost their safe space. Worrying times that won't be bettered by economical disaster.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... @Fordy117, I despair at those ppl ‘who think it doesn’t apply to them’ going out nilly willy. Very irresponsible. There are wonderful doctors and nurses risking their own lives in order to help and treat ppl, and these selfish ppl don’t give a toss.

Here’s a thought. How about the queen gives a few quid of that money she leeches off the state to help the NHS, yeh?..Or maybe not, just a message on the telly to keep the masses in line will do.

I actually think she is doing an important role. She does have a platform to speak from and it is at times like this, a crisis, that long-lasting change can happen. It needs to be a change that benefits the vast majority of society. The value of certain jobs has been demonstrated, a value that market forces fails to adequately remunerate. There are millions of low-paid workers risking their lives at the moment for the wider benefit of society. Often while their employers make vast profits which are redistributed for the benefit of the already wealthy.
The role of the state for the next generation is going to be more important than at any time since the Second World War. It needs to provide direction, and control where necessary, to help rebuild the country in a way that reduces inequality.
We are in risky territory at the moment. The request, understandable in the circumstances, to shop people for not complying with lockdown is not a million miles away conceptually from the operation of the Stasi. I am sure that we will need to accept curtailment of some liberties as we work through the management of this virus, but that needs to be done transparently and for the greater good. We need to be mindful of the impact of decisions for the greater good and how they filter down into the lives of those might be impacted adversely.
That is the challenge for us all going forwards and I believe it needs people like Emily Maitlis to call it out and challenge.
What we are living through now would be a challenge for any Government, regardless of their left/right credentials. I honestly believe it is the role of the BBC to ask questions of how the Government is doing, to share where things are working and to highlight where they are not.Stop hovering to collapse...
