I'm not sure, as in think it's a certainty. I think it's unlikely it will take off at the same rate. Italy, did take their eye off the ball for a vital few days, in that wonderful Italian way that they have - the rest of the world learnt from them and China and so have advised better

Some bigwig from abroad, stated as to how impressed they were with our co-ordinated services - that type of thing makes me doubt the acceleration will be the same, based on how it's gone so far.

But, I could be wrong and of course it will get worse and I think we'll all be inconvenienced at some time, in some way, during the next few months

Just asking, but do rumours about such things count?

I mean, this may be a football forum where hearsay and half-heard snippets get regurgitated as facts, but how do you find a reasonable 'rumour' about the unannounced fate of the entire nation?

I've just heard a rumour that schools are going to close 2 weeks before Easter and open again on Good Friday for a re-enactment of the crucifixion, before closing again for ever.
Oh no, sorry, I just made that up

Just switched over to see end of PSG v Dortmund match with no fans able to attend. Its just not right for matches as big as this.

I would rather see games postponed than the farce of no fans. Afterall, football is a spectator sport, without fans, it seems pointless

But for the number of cases so far, the advice so far has been excellent

What else should they be doing? And please don't compare us to Europe mainland, where there are an average of around 5 times more cases

Now, that the acceleration might be increasing, albeit still slightly - new measures will be put in place. Calm sensible, rational day by day appraisal of the situation and reacting accordingly

Expect either matches behind close doors or maybe no away fans - but even at this stage it's been put into place, as it's something that can be done to limit the spread that has the least impact

The row about whether the Atletico Madrid fans should have been allowed over, illustrates that all opinions are valid.

See this makes no sense to me.

Let's think about it. It's the over 60's/70's the @Bronco@Bronco of the world that are at the biggest risk?

A lot of kids are looked after by their grandparents!

    Kids spread gems!

No one knows if children are carriers of this virus but yeah let's stop school and but the over 60/70's at more risk while parents are at work.

    Lets see what happens.

If you ban gathering at football matches, then I suppose all sport where there are crowds need to be banned.
Then the cinema, going to the supermarket. Has the person who used the trolley or basket before you got Corona Virus? Filling the car with petrol, did you use gloves. Have you used public transport and pressed the bell, or had to hold on to a grip as it was standing room only on the train or bus. The change you got from buying a newspaper or a mars bar is it infected.

Anyone who expects the government to prevent it below what it currently is can they explain how please? Radiation suits for all?

Very true but you have to carry on as normal for as long as you can, after the "Cobra" meeting today there will be more news and I would expect restrictions be that a closure of schools or no mass gatherings hence football behind closed doors.
We need to be sensible about the situation going forward and not to panic.
