I speculated some time back that he'll either play as a left wing back or on the left side of the three behind Cook.

If this chap plays left back then I pity the left centre back. He'll have a shed load of work to do when this chap is all the way up the pitch when the opposition wins the ball.

In 352 a mid fielder drops back when the wing back roams upfield. All teams playing 352 use that principle don’t they?

This guy is not a left back. Or doesn't intend to play left back.

Have a listen to Jamie Raynor's interview on BBC Leeds.

I was a little disappointed with Jamie once he came back from injury, maybe he didn't want to push himself too hard and get injured again, hopefully we'll see a different Jamie Walker after a good pre season.

Me too. I said the same to my mate (yes just the one) but he won't have a word said against him.

Even though only a friendly, oduor took a bit of stick for his performance at Bury and some already writing him off.

Checked his career stats and can see he has actually played 47 games in the Championship, granted not sure how many of those were sub appearances, nevertheless, must have something about him.

Also didn't realise he was 24 years old, thought he was much younger.

Be interesting to see where MH sees him fit in, left wing back you would imagine?

He's had 27 starts in the championship. Looks like about half were as a wing back, half were as a winger on either side. I think he's mainly a LWB. Must admit, I'm seeing Hughes interviews on changing tactics as a bit of a red herring, trying to keep teams guessing but if everyone's fit, I think this wing back tactic is his main one.

I think Odour is nailed on to be this seasons scapegoat, we always have one every season who is never that bad but every mistake will get picked at more than every other player. Anyone with two eyes who watched the Bury game could see that Stubbs was by far our worst performer, a fair few times he gave the ball away or had to foul a lad in the second half. Halliday too lost the ball a fair bit and committed a few fouls in needless spots, but neither were dragged out by the fans as much as Odour did.

So this seasons Gilliead i expect. I know our fans can be dumb at times but getting stuck in after one game in what was just a mid tempo run around is pretty dumb even for our lot.

Don't worry, I'll balance the books if Gillead gets enough minutes!

Who did you dislike most, NM - Zesh, Conlon, Hanson or Gillead?!

Zesh by a million miles. He was incredibly weak for a centre half and shouldn't have been anywhere near professional football in England.

Strangely, I saw his debut at Bury as a left back and thought he looked fairly decent but unfortunately it was all down hill from there.

Conlon was Conlon. Not sure anyone can hate the guy, in his own words he was a "pub footballer got lucky". He was probably better technically than he gave himself credit for but he wasn't ever what we needed to get out of the division.

Gillead is actually a decent footballer but seemingly has the heart of a pea. Completely plays within himself and massively risk averse. It's a shame really as he does have the talent to play higher than league 2 but for whatever reason just can't impact games enough.

Hanson? The guys a legend. Absolutely no hate whatsoever and people misjudged my comments. I just didn't go along with the masses who constantly over praised him due to his history rather than look at what he was producing at the time and for the last maybe 12 months (?) he was incredibly ineffective because we'd probably ruined him as a footballer due to flogging him to death. That was our fault, not his.

Then came all the nonsense about everyone proving me wrong because of his move to Sheff Utd and scoring on his debut so imagine my shock when he went over a full seasons worth of games at various clubs without a single goal?

To sum it up, I liked Hanson, I just hated the complete refusal of the majority on here to accept any sort of criticism towards his performances week on week.
To balance any they read they even went completely over the top with undeserved praise in some kind of weird homage to the effectiveness that hadn't been there since the excellent Nahki Wells left.

Wow we really had some dross over the 2007-2010 era didn't we. I think it's fair to say our squad today is better than it was back then, some of our signings were quite literally trialists that were hoping to stay professional. I can't think of a single player that would be close to getting in the starting 11 today - Maybe Thorne or Daley?
