To be honest every single person who has played footy in a game can think of a time they’ve been running with the ball and it runs away from them and you are desperate to keep the ball and not lose it and over stretch. It looks stupid and reckless but it wasn’t malicious. You are just trying not to lose the ball in your head

Thought we were poor when the numbers were even, but credit towards the number of chances we created over the course of the game. Connoly a stand out, expecting Ismael to replace Pritchard going forward even though it’s on his wrong side.
Donaldson again showed his great football intelligence, for me Vaughan has to up his game outside the box, too often he ends up on the floor arms held out whilst the other team clear the ball.

    Good win today.

Cooke makes us such a better team.
Three good wingers, but not enough from the front two yet- Clayton can’t finish!

Back 4 solid although idiotic from BRE, should have to wait his turn to get back in now.

Very good from the keeper again.

Ref got the disallowed goal right but no idea how. Lino gave a goal so who disallowed it?!

Possibly confused the Hell out of some teams and commentators, with John on one wing, and Colin on the other ....... Imagine - 'Hall with the cross, Hall collects and slams it home....' ;)

They closed that part of the steps for the rest of the day, everyone was forced round it, so not sure if there was an issue with the steps.

But as you say hope they were ok.

BRE deserves to be fined his wages for that tackle. The easiest decision that ref will ever have to make. And after another stupid decision he made in midweek which cost us a point against a top ream he deserves an almighty rocket from GB.
As to the disallowed goal, the ref gave it and so did the liner on the Midland Road. After a few seconds the ref began talking on his Mike and then disallowed it. So the question is who was he talking to? And what did that person say to make him change his mind and also overrule the linesmans decision?

Really hard to tell and like others I’m unsure how they’ve decided conclusively it’s handball.

From the replay to me it looks, if anything, like it hits his arm after it’s crossed the line.

Either way, NKP is rugby tackling him as they go to ground, so if the officials between them saw a handball, how did they not see the rugby tackle immediately preceding it? Strange.

BRE has been one of our best players thus far. But that really was a 4th division tackle. So the two O'Connors in centre defence for next shout out. Not unhappy with that. And very happy with Pritchard and Dylan. At last! Two pacey, tricky wingers at VP. Carlisle's full back will be having nightmares about Connolly tonight.

How long is it since we were promised those two young prem wingers on loan?

Finally those spots have been filled!!

I thought Connolly did well, although I thought defensively he was a bit lacking and maybe he failed to keep track of Ireland who assisted Olomola to score their goal

Highlights shows Palmer s deliveries were spot on. With quick tricky wingers we will win a lot of free kicks so this is crucial. Full backs will think twice if the delivery is this good

TBH not too worried about out and out wingers defensive contributions. Let the back four sort that. Bomb on and bomb on again! That's what really puts the shit up defenders.

Everyone has said it, but Connolly today was fantastic. How pleasing was it having a winger who could beat a man, time after time, and fire a ball across. Their LB had a mare, both of them, Connolly then Ismael - I bet he wish the ground would just swallow him!
Cooke looked very calm in the middle, bringing better out of Palmer.
Wood had a strong game, always liked him in a city shirt, he's coming to his fore now.
BRE... WTF?! simple as that, you just knew what was gonna happen when that ball popped away from him.
    Vaughan had a quiet game.
Donaldson ran the line well, held up a fair few balls against 2 physical centre halves, his best game although he still can't seem to finish!

Out of interest, anyone know what Pressley had to say? He's usually good for a laugh!

Having watched the BRE red again in slow motion there's not actually a lot wrong with it. It's not two footed, he's not high and he's not late. Infact I don't think he touches the player at all.

Regardless of whether he caught him, he gave the referee a chance to even it up. Complete stupidity and that's now 2 big mistakes in 4 days. Someone needs to have a quiet word and just express to him that he really needs to learn from those mistakes.

Those aside though, he's been very good so far and his physicality will certainly be a big miss over the next 3 games.

Their no. 3 (who looked quite good) got up straight away but had to go back down as he was clearly hurt. Shortly after, he was subbed. The tackle was studs off the ground and a straight red any day of the week.

It was a silly thing to do absolutely, but I'm not so sure it was a red. The referee was clearly influenced by their players just as he was for the disallowed goal.

Think he was subbed because he was getting ripped apart by connolly and he was on a booking.

It doesn’t matter does it? They will argue he controlled it with his arm? It was definitely before the line he touched it - clear as day on the print.
