The deliberate element has been taken out now (to help VAR decisions), so you can accidentally touch the ball and not get booked but your goal is ruled out regardless, only problem in our case is Don touched it due to NKP ploughing into him from behind and that apparently is a foul against us!

I think that’s a little harsh. I thought the opening 30 minutes had some decent spells. First 5-10 minutes I thought we looked lively and were on the front foot. After that Carlisle stepped up and took charge for 10 minutes and then we took charge again and got the goal and then the red card followed.

I thought the majority of the game was decent compared to some of the dross that’s been served up in recent times.

We were joking about what games we could have brought with us that were more interesting than the first thirty minutes, there again i'm a tough task master and what doesn't entertain me could well entertain someone else. The sending off took an extra body out of midfield which allowed the game to flow, till that point we struggled to make any impact bar the goal. The threat was always Connolly, i don't see Pritchard as a wide player, more a player who offers more away from the touchline. Wood showed if we can get him forward on more occasions he is the best crosser of a ball we've got, i see him and Connolly as the main supply threat.

One true wide man with one winger tucked in has been a recipe for success in the past as it gives cover to an outmanned centre mid area. Beagrie and Lawrence come to mind.

It's not 'deliberate' handball these days, rule change this summer. If the ball hits an attacker's arm, it is classed as handball, end of. If it hits a defender's arm then the ref has to make a judgement whether the arm is moved towards the ball etc.
