    Thoughts on the line-up?

Bowyer has reported no injuries were sustained midweek so that's a positive!

Ideally, for me, the same starters as Tuesdays game with the exception of Cooke for Anderson, with cameo's off the bench once again for McCartan & Oteh

I also see the opposition are managed by that salty drip Steven Pressley, the sore loser that accused us of dark ages football a few seasons back. Let's hope we send him home empty handed again!

I think there will be one change - Paudie for Anthony.

You would think that Cooke would be ready now to start, he must have had pre-season training at Posh, or was he injured over the summer?. However, Bowyer still talks cautiously about his imminent chances of being ready

I've read match reports and looked at the stat's for both sides Steve ........ And each are similar in regards to 'Which side is going to turn up' ? City and Carlisle are both capable of getting a result, just as much as throwing one away.
My heart says a cautious 0 - 0, whilst my head says a sloppy game with a 3 - 2 Win for City. Make of that, as you will ;)

They've won 2 out of the last 5 like we have. They seem to pick up results away from home as well beating barnsley 3-0 at Oakwell in the cup and league wins at Stevanage and Scunny.
Harry McKirdy looks like the stand out player for them.
Young lad with 3 goals and 3 assists already this season.
Looks like one that could go either way but i'm sure with Bowyer's tight, cautious approach then that shoud see us to a 2-1 defeat. :*@

I've gotta command the will just to turn up. I'm wavering already.

Lose this with Swindon next up at home then the rest of the VP faithful could be wavering too Dave.

For once just play the strongest 11, Paudie and Cooke to start for AO’C and Anderson, I won’t hold my breath.

Honestly, it's not the results but the manner of the performances/ team structure that's already got me 'wavering ', as I put it. I have mid table expectations for the season and have from the offset, so defeats are inevitable in my thinking. I like most on here want success, without a doubt, but I want to be engaged by the football on show. Bar 60 minutes against Oldham, nope it's being nothing of the sort ( I wasn't at the Northampton game). I mean the FGR and Cambridge games were dull....
I could spend the afternoon at the Saltaire festival with friends and family, a guaranteed afternoon/evening of laughs or spend an afternoon at VP.

Whilst we didn't get 'gubbed', we still lost. Not the most dazzling of comparison

    O’Donnell

    Mellor - paudie - BRE - Wood

    Pritchard - Cooke - Palmer - ismail

    Vaughan - Donaldson

I’d drop Donaldson but there is nobody else to hold the ball up top.

I’d go same as Dubai and that should be enough for a comfortable 2-0 win, funny what a 3-2 loss to 3rd in the table and a team who haven’t lost in 15 at home can do. Had we won or even drawn that everyone in here would probably be talking easy win, not that we ever make anything easy. But theoretically this I’d hope will be a comfortable as you can get with us, win.

    2-0 win I’m going.

I'd make one change to that - Connolly to start instead of Ismail, with Ismail coming on from bench at about 65 mins depending on the game.

Need to get control in midfield and start dictating the tempo of games. Whether Cooke will make that difference in a 442 remains to be seen but I think we need another body in that area.

    OD
    Mellor POC BRE Wood
    Cooke Palmer Pritchard
    Connolly Vaughan Ismail

However I've got a feeling mccarten will play and we'll go 4231.

    I'd go:

    OD
    Mellor POC Van Dijk-Everton Wood
    Ismail Palmer Cooke Pritchard
    McCartan Vaughan

Play football. Cooke is better on the ball than Anderson so we should be able to play. 2 wingers too which helps the play flow better.

    I'm predicting a convincing 3-0 win

    o donnell
    henley-poc-bre-wood
    aoc-cooke
    ismael-palmer-pritchard
    Vaughan
    (4-2-3-1)
couple of extra bodies offering soldiarity , with licence for ismael and pritchard to get up vaughan when possible and freeing up palmer who actually looked good the last 10 at cheltenham with a licence to create for once.

Donaldson on for 30 last or so if needed.
