Good tackle from Wood at the end in a 2 vs 1 situation. Not the first time this season he's made a crucial last ditch tackle.

O'Donnell also continues to impress. He's made some class saves this season that have kept us in games.

Enjoyed that more than a 3 nil romp.
Beating a team that comes to spoil and waste time and then end up with nowt.
    Priceless.

Every game this season at home there has been players losing their footing, amazed me at half time when we continued to wet the pitch. And then continue to watch players falling over. Stop watering the pitch so much.

First game I had managed to get to this season due to holidays etc.

Thought we were ok in the first half, but nothing special, had a couple of moments that showed glimpses of promise, but felt like we could of and should have done more. Second half was much better and for the first time in a long time I thought we looked threatening and actually enjoyed watching the football we were producing. I agree with most of the things that are being said on here. Back 4 looks sound, although I am not 100% convinced by Wood, but believe there is plenty of potential there. Think BRE is superb and thought Mellor played well too. Thought all 3 wingers played well. Connelly grew as the game went on, thought Pritchard had a cracking game and Ismail really made a difference and turned the game in our favour when he came on. Up front Vaughan hassled and ran the entire time he was on and show his captaincy skills throughout the game and I thought Donaldson was superb, never stopped running and putting himself about and thought he was quite selfless at times.

The big thing that struck me today was that we didn't give up. I thought the first half there were people in the crowd who were having a go at everything we did. If we were keeping possession they were shouting because we were't going forward. If we didn't have a shot we were useless. There was booing and the name calling and language from some was quite embarrassing at times. Everybody is entitled to their opinion and after all we spend or hard earned cash on watching some rubbish at times, but the people behind me today were shocking. City has been rubbish for over a year now, but I felt today was better than we had seen for quite sometime. I actually walked away with a smile on my face and the 2 hour drive home was better because of it!

Just heard some absolute dribbler refer to Ismail as 'some Asian sent off for fighting' genuinely ashamed of that level of stupid.

Should be the other way round. For fear of going all happy clappy do we really want another atmosphere that we’ve had around the place for the best part of two seasons? Granted, the start of the season hasn’t exactly been enthralling but there are a number of new players at the club and the last thing they need is another fan v manager battle. Thats not to say we shouldn’t question what Bowyer does, be pointless being a football fan if we didn’t, but League 2 is hard enough to watch as it is without any more added negativity.

    Hi Bradford fans,

Thought I would just give a little insight into what you can expect from us come the game tomorrow. Last visited you guys a few year back on a Tuesday (I think) and Mark Marshall absolutely tore us apart!

We had made 14 signings this summer with a huge number of players departing after years of poor performance. I would expect us to line up as below:

    Cornell
    Harriman Goode Turnbull Martin
    Lines McWilliams
    Hoskins Warburton Adams
    Williams

We have seen a real mixture of performances this year, with by far our best performance of the season coming against Plymouth in our last league game. They tried to play a total football style and we pressed them high up the pitch which was hugely effective.

Nicky Adams has been a key signing, returning to us after a few years getting promotions elsewhere. He is by far our most creative player, he averages the most crosses of any player in the league. Other strikers have been brought in but Andy Williams remains by far our biggest goal threat so I would expect him to start. Whilst on the other wing Sam Hoskins will I'm sure continue to start. Hes very much marmite with us Cobblers fans, he runs fast and often but dosnt often provide much end product.

Unfortunately two key midfielders are currently our in Alan McCormack and Ryan Watson. McCormarck is an absolute destroyer in midfield, think Ricky Ravenhill but with the ability to pass. Watson is our most creative passer centrally but broke his collarbone midweek unfortunately.

Cobblers remain the slowest team with the ball, with us completing only 10.3 passes per minute of possession. We also have 2 of the top 5 players involved in aerial battles per 90 minutes. Needless to say that points to a long ball mentality, although that changed last game so hopefully we continue to build on our play.

Interestingly Bradford are second slowest at 10.7 passes per minute so suggests not quite a total football experience tomorrow!

Any pub recommendations are always appreciated! Also any questions about the team etc do feel free to ask!

    Absolutely speechless.

    Could not disagree more.

    Neither could Bowyer apparently.

So the precedent set by this ref is, just grab hold of anyone on a yellow card, rag them around until they also grab your shirt, then they're off!

    Simple!

What an idiotic decision by a very poor official.

Why are most people dropping AOC? I think so far he has been one of our better performers

Agreed. I found it bizarre how we gave him a contract extension. Waste of a wage & squad place.

If you think Akpan's a DM you're making the same mistake almost every manager that's had him at city has made, namely you just think that because he's a big lad. The guy plays like a fecking fairy and wouldn't know a tough tackle if someone two footed him whilst he was doing his weekly shop. Devine is better or to phrase it properly, slightly less shit because A) he recycles the ball in possession better and B) plays like he actually wants to be there. He also has the benefit of youth in that there's a chance he may become better, whereas Akpan is too old at 27/28 to realistically improve much and should be in his footballing prime. As you said Fordy, understand the game.
