Does anyone know what time the ticket office opens on a match day?

If you think Akpan's a DM you're making the same mistake almost every manager that's had him at city has made, namely you just think that because he's a big lad. The guy plays like a fecking fairy and wouldn't know a tough tackle if someone two footed him whilst he was doing his weekly shop. Devine is better or to phrase it properly, slightly less shit because A) he recycles the ball in possession better and B) plays like he actually wants to be there. He also has the benefit of youth in that there's a chance he may become better, whereas Akpan is too old at 27/28 to realistically improve much and should be in his footballing prime. As you said Fordy, understand the game.

Both Devine and Akpan are crap but If I was to chose I’d have Akpan Devine would have gone by now if we had another home grown player

Personally I'd put one of the O'Connors in there if we're playing a holding midfielder... Anthony has done it before and is a decent enough footballer and, whilst I don't know of him having done it before, I think Paudie would be excellent in that role given his technical ability

    Why would you have Akpan?

Your point about Devine being a home made player is irrelevant because there is zero chance we would have kept Akpan.

I'm not that bothered which midfielders we play in which formation until we get a better look at the new ones. However, I would like to see them look like they know what to do when we lose the ball. Track their runners, get back in position, challenge for headers, tackle - protect the defence. One of them that can tackle (do we have one?) should be sitting most of the time. I don't think that one is Akpan or Devine or Palmer. Could it be Cooke, Devitt, or maybe even A'o'C or Paudie? It's not right that the centre backs are frequently having to deal with runners because our midfield is on holiday up the park somewhere. Football is about space. All our midfield pushing up together just denies space for Vaughan and Donaldson to do their thing and gives our opponents loads to attack on the break. We need to sit a bit deeper but get the ball to Donaldson and Vaughan more quickly when we win the ball. Lots of completed short passes sideways to each other, while our opponents get back and organised, will not win games!

bowyer to succumb to fan unrest and play a flat four across the middle, northampton to flood the midfield leaving no outball. city centre-halfs to bypass midfield and go long to the front two, playing of scraps and second balls for 90mins whilst northampton play through midfield.. crowd moaning after 10mins as we can't control the game or tempo. scrappy draw or win by one goal for either side.

This could well happen today. BowyerS goes 4-4-2 to the wishes of the unwashed and then spend the rest of the match complaining that Northampton are running through midfield unopposed. I don't mind 4-4-2, an ideal formation for khazi league football but only if your manager believes in it and has the personnel to play it. Play to your strengths, not to what the fans clamour for.

    He doesn't know our strengths.

4-4-2 is our strength though because we have to play to Donaldson and Vaughan's strengths. It's bloody clear!

Your strength is what gets results. 4-4-2 got us 2 wins but in truth wasn't the reason for those wins. I'm not bothered what formation he goes with as long as he believes in it. If that happens to be 4-4-2 then so be it.

I think we will go with a diamond with Pritchard at the top, Cooke at the base, with Ismail and Wood out wide.

That's because you're a loonball. Why would anyone with a brain cell play 4 midfielders out of position?

We've got a half decent defence and yeti decent big lads up top.

HOOOOOOOOF if we have to, as long as we win I couldn't give a schitt about playing long ball.
