Indeed. I went to school with Lewis and played in the same team as him (though he was playing above his age group). There was no indication he'd get into such trouble as he seemed like a good lad. Cant help thinking he got dragged into that situation without knowing the full extent of it but I suppose people change.

 

I agree, he was a good friend of my sister from Hanson school and I met him at her 18th, sat talking to him and he seemed a decent lad.

Unfortunately seems that quite a few footballers go down the wrong track.
Look at Gazza. He’d have been locked up in this day an age. If some of you haven’t read his book, I’ll tell you it’s one of the best autobiogs I’ve read. Paints a real picture about the pressure during and after football. Implore all to read it.
Ref Ched. He was judged innocent. True or not, the real fact is he’s a shadow of his former self on the pitch. I’d only judge him on his merit on the park, not off it, but seeing his stats, I’m saying we can do better. Baggage or not.
