Land value remains Chris. We might be left with Charlie’s old boots.

Oh dear what? Edin has already stated multiple times that a replacement cannot cost more than the original player. So we're going to have to try sell wyke for a high price as the chances of signing a replacement on the cheap is slim to none.

Not that hard to understand is it?

You have showed already you don’t understand what you are talking about, so I am hardly going to be persuaded by your input.

And thank God it did back in the 60's, @Kevin1954@Kevin1954 !!
Aside from the Summer 'strolls' with the local girls (just beyond the allotments) opposite the Midland Road stand - there were many a discarded pram 'tipped' there to enable me to build, and sell endless Bogies / Guiders ! :D

Anyone know a good estate agent? I've got an urgent need to sell my house, apparently I have to give it away for nothing next summer.

    Ruddy Brexit no doubt.

Has anyone thought of asking the opinion of a local estate agent, say Whitegates?

I wasn’t the one that first raised the anology, I simply reused it.

The fact remains, we sell him for less than he would be worth had he been on a longer contract.
We then struggle to replace him with that money.
We miss out on promotion or, heaven forbid, we get relegated.
Does that £0.5m look a good deal then?

    Or

We keep Wyke for another 12mths.
His goals get us promoted / help in a cup run / save us from relegation.
Next May he re-signs a new deal with us (more likely if we got promoted)
Or he walks away for nothing but we still got value from him for that last 12mths

    Or

We keep Wyke for his last 12mths.
He is top scorer come Christmas and clubs are sniffing again.
There is a bidding war and rather than lose him to one of their rivals in the summer, ClubX offer over the going rate in January (it happens).
We accept that offer then instead of this summer.
The goals he scored up to January help keep us in the division and we end up getting more for him too

The fact is, none of us actually know how ‘worth’ to us. To say we should just blinkeredly accept £500k now is lazy thinking and not considering his actual value TO US.

Kev, if it is as straightforward as you want to make out, why did we not accept Scunthorpe’s offer in January, rather than ‘risk’ losing him for nothing (as we did) and losing whatever sum we had been offered?

Fact is, some players are more value to us in a City shirt than they are being sold on the cheap

He has said it numerous times in many interviews. I don't have the time to search through all the articles.

I think he even said it in the bantams banter interview on YouTube.

If someone can produce a quote I will apologise but I haven’t read or heard that and the Actuall facts contradict it

In no way am I in anyway saying it’s straightforward, other than......

He’s 12 months left on a contract, his agent is telling him not to extend it, on the basis he will be transferred for a fee, of which he gets a percentage, plus maybe a signing on fee above that, plus a fatter and longer contract say three/four years maybe at Posh (that’s what they do)

We turn offers down so he gets none of the above.... what happens he does a Macca, sulks, goes through the motions doesn’t figure in the next 12 months and leaves for free.

On that basis I’d flog him , if the price is right, tomorrow.

Like it or not the player holds all the aces in the pack ! That’s why 2 year deals are garbage from a clubs perspective

    Note
Now the club have confirmed an initial offer has been made and turned down do you think he’s going to be happy. Do you think Posh would have “spoken” to his agent already to see if he’s “interested”. If they answer was no , why would they have made the bid.? They are shrewder than supporters give them credit for

Players rule the roost I’m afraid.
