Still doesn’t mean you have to take the offer though. As someone said, you live in a nice house and you are thinking of moving. You put your existing home on the market, but only 1 offer received as the market for your type of property is quiet. If you don’t sell for your minimum value. You won’t be able to afford to get the house you want. Do you stay where you are or do you sell up anyway and move into a rented gig?

Most would stay put, even if they know the dwelling is getting old and showing signs of needing repair and as a result the value of your property is dropping.

But it IS invested back into the club. An important point.

Building foundations that will ultimately make us a better club in the long run.

Football supporters, as a general statement, are short termers. They want it and they want it now and damn tomorrow we will worry about tomorrow...tomorrow

I like our current strategy which seems to have longer term views and if the 3 year plan becomes a 5 year plan then I'm OK with that. These things are not a science after all.

We have to reject this bid! The objective should be to do everything we can to get Charlie to extend his links with City beyond this season (because he certainly has what it takes to be valued at higher than £500k). If he decides he wont sign a new contract then of course we have to sell him for the best fee we can get as next summer he can walk for nothing but this raises a massive worry - where the hell our the goals going to come from, both in terms of creation and finishing? There is very little currently at the club in these key areas that fills me with any optimism, what we have is all based on loose potential, possibilities and players who to date have not been up to it - if I am being overly worried please tell me who exceeds these descriptions? I was not at the friendly the other night so cannot give a personal account but a couple of friends who were there said we look woefully short in these areas - I just hope Edin and the 3 Stooges have their bloody eyes open to this.

    Whilst you are spot on with most of that, it is worth pointing out that;
    - we haven’t put ‘our house’ on the market
    - we’ve received an offer but it wasn’t on the market
    - you would only sell your ‘house’ if you wanted to ‘move’. We don’t need to ‘move’
    - there are lots of cases where a ‘homeowner’ tries to fend off approaches (from the bank) and sadly end up with a ‘repossession notice’ and lose the ‘house’ for nothing

In which case Wyke isn't any good to us is he?

Not exactly known for creating and taking his own chances...is he?

Jeez do people actually think about what they are posting?

The one thing that is missing from this hypothetical situation is....

In June next year your house is available to anyone and they don't have to pay you a cent for it. You have to move out and try to find somewhere else to live but you now have no money.

Now does that make the current bid for your house look like something you might consider?

    I suspect it does.

Well that's not strictly true is it. We may get income from other player sales and windfalls to afford a new striker next summer. Or there may be a good enough free agent we can attract.

As I’ve already stated, if I can’t move into a different house, then would I prefer to stay where I am for as long as I can. Would I take the cash but live in a cardboard box because the money won’t buy me a replacement or do I stay as long as I can and continue to try to do something (anything) to secure my property long-term?

To clarify, my house is available to anyone in June of next year and that STILL includes me.

Let him go if he wants to leave, he’s definitely replaceable.

    He’s no Nahki Wells.

We created naff all last year. And up to now in the transfer window have only replaced one unproductive winger for an unproven (but possibly great) winger. Hopefully we're still looking at creative players.

Don’t worry about it, @Just Looking@Just Looking is desperately trying to win Park’s crown as the Happiest Happy Clapper we have.

Leave him to get on with his ‘campaign’...!

The house would still have value as you indicate, in 12 months time, even BEFORE the “repairs” you mention . Charlie will have a value of zero, zilch, nothing, feck all in 12 months time.

    Can’t you see it....poor anology.

As we have not sold anyone as yet to see if your claim is true or not you can only make that comment when we actually do sell a player and we see the revenue from that player reinvested as you say, until then its only your opinion.
**EDIT** @BoingBoing@BoingBoing has just pointed out to me we reinvested Hanson's transfer fee back into Charlie Wyke so I apologise.
