Just a minute @banbrotam even Charlie Wyke say's it was the fans reaction at Blackpool that got the players to take a long hard look at themselves.

CHARLIE Wyke is grateful to the Valley Parade faithful for not turning on City.

The anger that spilled out at Blackpool could have carried on into the games that followed.

“They could have turned on us really badly but they didn’t.

“They got straight behind us. They could see we were working hard and responded. It is all they ask from us, to work hard.

“You see a lot on social media asking the players to work hard and it was a bit of a wake-up call to us all.”

 

What has the fact that Bury are being relegated got to do with my comment, Bury are going down even thought they have paid big fees for players, where as my comment was we'll still have a club to follow having replaced the likes of Wyke with as @Ricc suggested Renford Rejects.

 

My point is we are just as likely to be relegation fodder spending silly money we can’t afford. As we are building on the decent players we have got continuing to find some younger players and or two decent loans.

I do find it strange that a heavy loss to a half decent Blackpool team (as we even saw on the opening game of the season) get's a reaction from the players, but the equally inept Wimbledon home defeat didn't

I think the problem with McCarten is the fee paid. I know it sounds obvious but i think fans get carried away with spending £200,000. Lets be honest what does £200,000 get you these days in football? 200 grand in todays football literally is a token gesture, you are much better putting the money towards wages.

This could clear up the myth about whether we paid a transfer fee for Aaron Mclean. If we weren’t paying transfer fees then we didn’t pay one for Mclean.

 

Obviously Simon Grayson couldn't, just as his predecessor couldn't during that shocking period, I can't get excited on what I've seen since the Blackpool game, even given we looked to be turning the corner with the two hard fought games against Wigan and Shrewsbury then the victory against Portsmouth, then they don't turn up at what should have been a very winnable game at Rochdale.
