The data is showing people are not dying as much.

Come winter more people will catch and dye from the flu at this rate. For me let people decide what they want to do but ruining the economy now isn't a option as it will effect generations to come.

Don't think any fans will be allowed in for this, not sure we would have had a full house either, there would be likely no more than 2 of Liverpool's first team squad on show as all premiership clubs hold no respect for either of the major cup competitions these days...

You’ve answered it yourself with revenue. Consider Covid and season ticket sales been down, every pound is important. With iFollow and potentially Sky it should still be a nice little earner.

If you are wanting another reason, then we have some young lads in the team and it might be their only chance to play a club like Liverpool so there’s incentive there. From a fans point of view I’d rather a game where we play Liverpool instead of Barrow, Harrogate etc.

I get that Fordy but there's an obvious lag between people getting infected and people dying and if it's mainly young people that are getting it as they seem to think then that will make the lag even more pronounced. That's why we have to be patient, just let it play out until the picture is clearer.

If it was only a case where you could only infect yourself then I would say fine, it's personal choice. But when it might not be you who will be affected but maybe someone further down the line then it's more of a societal question and people can't always be trusted to do the right thing when it's not them with something to lose.

As for the economy....it's open. Apart from large scale sporting events and kiddies play areas what else are we missing?

I can understand the pull of it, I just wondered if drawing a lesser team if you will and progressing would have been worth more than playing Liverpool in the current climate.

Didnt realise fans wouldnt be allowed once the season started with limited numbers in the stadium.
I'd have thought first come first served with 7 000 tickets on sale wouldnt be a problem

The following Liverpool players will more likely play:

    Adrian (Spainsh International
Williams(Welsh International and best Welsh youth talent)
    Matip(International).
    Gomez(England International)
    Tsimikas (Greek International)
    Milner(We all know about him)
    Henderson(Just coming back from injury)
    Ox(Just coming back from injury)
Jones(One of the best English talents)
    Minamino (Japan International)
Elliott (One of the best English talents)

Think they would be full house to see that line up. Know your stuff.

At least you won't have to worry about which end to sit in, eh? ;)

@Fordy117@Fordy117 is starting to annoy me now. Won't help our club with his millions and business acumen but helps a guy getting paid millions by picking his team free of charge! Grrrr.

Jürgen has already acknowledged that Fordy will do a better job than him so is more than happy to step aside if Liverpool get through :)

There’s no guarantee that ifollow will be available for the Liverpool game is there?

All the games from round 1 were available to stream so don’t see why it would be different for round 3?

No carabao cup games were due to be shown on ifollow but they struck a deal to arrange it with the no fans etc.
Big chance we are on sky if we get Liverpool no way sky will allow ifollow to stream the game too. And even if not I just can’t see it

If we’re on Sky the game is unlikely to be shown on IFollow although it wouldn’t need to be either. If not, I’m sure there’ll be some way to access the game and another deal could be struck. It would make no sense whatsoever for either the EFL or remaining clubs to deprive themselves of guaranteed income.

Yeah I’m with you and I hope it is. But sky will have a big say. I suppose it doesn’t matter if we are on sky like you say doesn’t matter at all. The problem is Liverpool are not part of ifollow so that might be where the problem lies? Not sure.

I think it will be worth seeing now round 2 is on with prem teams in it, think 4 games have been picked for sky see what happens to the rest?

You could easily say the same about flu, though. Not many people are dying right now of flu.

I guess they're waiting to see if Winter has a big impact or not; they know it will with flu, but will it with Covid?

At the moment, I think we're daft not opening outdoor arenas - but at no point has the government worked in a sensible, measured, synchronised way, so it's no surprise they're treating football games the same as an indoor gig - unfortunately they're not getting the obvious differences.

I think that if a game is on Sky it can't also be on iFollow. You can get a daily pass for Sky Sports through Now TV if you need to.

They are letting Championship clubs show their games on iFollow when live on Sky.
