In all seriousness, I kept religiously to the guidelines until the bloody fool advised it was safer to meet my family with hundreds of other people in a park in Manningham than in my secluded garden in Baildon. I've changed my name to Cummings and now do what I like.

You could always go to Roberts Park and test your eyesight out. ;)

I've said it before and I'll probably keep saying it each time it comes up but I really don't see the confusion in this.

Go on then and tell us why its not confusing that you can meet your family in a park but not their back garden.

What so it's not confusing that the government want people back in the offices Mon-Fri but people can't watch sport live at a weekend?

    Please explain.

Because primarily they don't want people going into each others homes. Behind closed doors with people you are familiar with is probably where social distancing breaks down the most.

Meeting in gardens is fine in my view - exactly the same as a park - but we all know that if we meet our mates for a couple of beers in the garden and it gets a bit cold or rainy that everyone is going inside. Restricting gardens therefore just takes that temptation away and gives that buffer.

It's simply taking one step at a time to get back to normality isn't it? Were you expecting them to release all the restrictions in one go?

I don't think there is any difference in the possible spread, I just think they want to open up one piece of the economy at a time and check the effects before moving on to the next. Offices are next.

You're right. I'll take Bigrod's advice and go to Roberts Park to check my eyesight

If it rains whilst in the park you would huddle under the nearest tree. No difference.
I admire your defence of the governments strategy. Not many of you about these days.

I don't think people in the main would huddle under trees, certainly not to the extent that would simply go indoors.

It's not a defense of the government. It's just an observation that there are several behavioral differences between meeting in a public space that the majority have to travel to and sitting right outside your home in a private garden and I think they're blindingly obvious.

Are you bloody well taking the piss. Just bloody wow.

    Coffin dodgers... :(:(

If we beat Lincoln, you'll miss out seeing a smittering of first team players, reserve players and youth team players. I mean, did you think before you posted?

For reference, this was the Liverpool team vs mk dons in the 3rd round, last season.

You do realise, it is only a game of football after all.

We obviously have to beat Lincoln but in the current situation what are the actual benefits of drawing a big team like Liverpool? What would of been a sell out is more likely at the moment to be an empty stadium, maybe some revenue if it gets picked as a TV game but what do we gain revenue wise other than a potential stuffing?

    3 months?

Other countries and even Scotland didn't wait 3 months to allow fans back.

Look, the only reason why the government is calling for people to go back to offices is because they know that they made a massive mistake which was to give companies the chance to work from home and get rid of offices which means city centres suffers.

Soon they will realise that not having 10-14k fans for Bradford City every 2nd Saturday damages the local economy as well...THIS GOVERNMENT IS CLUELESS!

This is the issue. It all comes down to the government in some people's eyes but take that out of the equation.

Is taking it slowly when you're coming out of a pandemic a smart thing to do.....yes.
When you're reopening the economy is it sensible for large scale, voluntary social/hospitality events to come after other parts of the economy......also yes.

Forget the government. I don't see the issue with being patient on this front.

This is a topic we can discuss for ever. We can all go into a pub and observe social distancing but I am sceptic here especially as the night progresses and people are still going to the bar to get their drinks and going to the other place to get rid of their drinks.

To start off with we’ll sell a considerable amount of IFollow passes for the game which means more income for the club. We’ll also sell 7k tickets for the game whereas it would have probably been half of that for vs a smaller club. Even with the current situation the financial impact between drawing Liverpool vs say Accrington Stanley is still a big one.

Edit: I stand corrected on the second point, looks like the tie is taking place before fans are allowed back.

I agree, and they shouldn't be. The pubs should be enforcing SD at all times. I hope they have no complaints when they're next on the hit list.
