Good point on Longridge. I’m sure Bowyer will be speaking to him for a reference. Maybe he sees value in an established partnership down that left hand side....

No idea. @BoingBoing@BoingBoing forced me to boycott after finding out it was full of trialists so we didn't go. Ended up giving away our green flares to some local chavs.

Agree with what others have said. It was a chance for GB to see these players in a competitive match, a chance for them to impress him, a chance for the Brighouse players to play in a competitive match against, mostly, more experienced players than themselves and in front of probably the biggest crowd they will play in front of this season. So a win - win for everybody, especially Brighouse FC who undoubtedly made a few quid on the night, especially with having the outside bar and Barbeque. They play at a reasonable level and if contacts were made last night which might enable City to loan some of the youngsters out to gain experience, then that is another bonus.
As for the idiots who ran onto the pitch, they need hounding out. Also, I know my eyes are going a bit, but I am sure it was a yellow/orange flare and not green as stated by Simon Parker.
It will be interesting to see how many of those who played last night are asked to stay on and given another game and who are told "thanks a lot and good luck for the future".

1st prize a box of veg. 2nd prize a case of Lager - wrong way round surely[/QUOTE]

always thought this about the shirt off my back draw. I'd much sooner the second prize of £100 cash than a players shirt.

Why would Brighouse be interested in our youngsters? They didn’t get to see them....!

As for win-win for everyone, how do you think they got their ‘expected’ highest crowd of the season? Do you think the fans turned up to watch a full team of trialists?

Last night was my first friendly in years, Brighouse my second home after moving there as a teen. Enjoyed last night despite them all been trialist and a few in"our" side may be worth another look. A few of us thought the Brighouse number three was pretty good too, a bit dirty on a couple of occasions but very solid and don't think anyone managed to get past him?
Re the pitch invasion one of the silly Billy's managed to drop his phone whilst in the area and for the rest of the game was heard pleading with the Briggus goalie(Jordan) for him to collect it for him, he was lucky none of the players stood on it! Think he got it back at the end. Had some good bants with their keeper by the way, nice lad:)

Why wouldn't they be interested regardless if they saw them at the game or not? I'm sure they will know all about them. Does it really matter? Nobody said what sort of team it would be, don't turn up to a pre season game expected anything from it because you'll be disappointed.

Thankyou BB. What I said was that contacts would have been established due to City playing there and this would maybe enable younger City players turning out for Brighouse if it was advantageous to both sides. After the apparent attitude from the previous set up at City anything that will build bridges with local clubs is to be welcomed.
