Fair enough, the person that coined it did well to creat an identity that has really stuck.

Its a sign of losing a debate when people resort to personal jibes and/or insults.

A trait synonymous with the left leaning folk.

Compromise is the basis of all negotiation - something the Torys dont seem to grasp very well

I agree with your compromise comment, its a shame the EU didn't compromised when David Cameron went to them cap in hand for a better deal, they could still have had the then second largest EU contributor subsidising the rest of the EU countries.

Funnily enough the guy who runs the channel is a city fan - that was a pleasant coincidence

It would mean having to be part of the customs union, Accepting freedom of movement with unrestricted immigration and also accepting the EU court as the ruler of UK laws again, A high price to pay for what would be very little if any gain, The EU faces massive challenges and we do not need to inherit any of them

Posters on here were more than happy to quote trade deals can/will take years to deliver yet we only officially left the EU on 31 January 2020. The transition period ended on 31 December 2020 where nothing changed with regards rules governing the new relationship between the EU and UK it only took effect on 1 January 2021.
As with the rest of the world we have endured Covid for over two years now some are expecting instant results, if by the end of this Tory government's term in office we are not seeing any positivity with regards Brexit those who voted Tory may change their allegiance, then again the other parties will have to get their acts together, after Starmer & Raynor return their questionnaires they might honour their word by resigning their positions in the Labour Party if any charges come out of this police investigation.

Have Keir Starmer and the Labour Party eventually seen sence and accept the 2016 referendum vote, 6 years after the people spoke.

Starmer will insist that a Labour government would not seek to rejoin the EU’s single market or customs union or reintroduce freedom of movement — let alone seek to reverse the 2016 Leave vote.

They are but acknowledging they accept the referendum vote and all that entails is a start, they were very much for staying in the customs union even now Emily Thornberry still bleating on about it.

If what has been reported today comes out as true it will be utter irony.

The man who arguably holed Labour's last election campaign with his alienating Brexit strategy is now going to rule out any winding back of the main Brexit deals point. If he'd allowed for this to be the Labour policy at the time - or maybe even been clear about wanting to stay in the Customs Union - then Labour would likely have been in power already for better or worse.

I still think it will be difficult to get the likes of Stephen Kinnock, Diane Abbott, John McDonnell, Jeremy Corbyn, and many more leaning to the left to accept they got it so wrong at the last General Election.
