This is a pivotal week for this country comprises have to happen on both sides because on top of COVID if we leave with no deal this country is going to hell on a handcart.
People voted to leave the institutions of the EU so the agreement has to mirror that on fishing people should remember we export a large percentage of what we catch to EU countries so if we leave without a deal fishmen will lose a massive market. Get a deal done this week

There can be no compromise in trying to keep us tied the the EU, it has to be a clean break no ifs or buts were out, our fishing waters will obviously be a big bargaining tool it is something the EU can't do without and we must use that to get the best deal we can.

I think a no deal would be a total disaster for both sides. We can do all the deals we want with the rest of the world but we need to trade with our neighbours. Even if we reach an agreement I think in the short term it’s going to add to our problems.

Only with WTO tariffs and quotas if we don't agree a trade deal with the EU! And with WTO tariffs and quotas, the UK and the EU will be trading with each other less than they do now and with more red tape and border delays.

And who knows how we will trade the stuff which are not covered by WTO rules without a trade deal with the EU on a wide range of things outside of the current trade negotiations. It's a high risk strategy which is being played out.

Reports tonight on fishing is the EU deal is that they have 80% of our fishing waters and leave 20% for the UK as they have now in perpetuity, If we fail to agree the international agreement for all countries (including the EU who always impose it ) is an economic border of 200 miles or halfway between countries,
Interesting they always insist on there own borders been 200 miles with economic rights but will not agree this with the UK, In fact we may be the only country in the world that does not have this 200 limit if we agree the EU deal.

Apparently our offer is 50-50 of our waters reviewed annually dependent on fish stocks, This has been rejected outright by the EU who are insisting on the present 80-20 in their favor, F**K them

Maybe we should walk away and watch the German car manufacturers, French wine makers and the rest tell the EU negotiators they cant allow that, the fishing waters were always a major priority for the EU,

Not worthwhile risking having to drive a Kia or Hyundai.

I want a deal, but I still believe that we may have to have no deal first, in order to get a deal. As @Bronco@Bronco says:
And, add to that, there will be businesses in this country doing exactly the same, with our negotiators.

I suspect that, ultimately, it will be businesses that shape any future trading deal, rather than politicians. We may just have to wait a while to get there.

We know fishing was always going to be an issue with regards the EU fishing fleets so it was always going to be critical for the EU, a guy on BBC going through the ins and outs saying we wont be able to sell the fish to the EU without a deal I dont think even if our fishing industry was big enough that would never be the case.
The only part we must get is no ties to any EU regulations or there was little point in voting leave, the EU cannot have any say in the way the UK go about running the country in the future, any backing down on that one issue will lose the support of the Northern Blue voters at the last election.

With respect trev the creative industries generate more money for this country than fish that we dont even eat ever will and yet not a peep from you about any red tape in that industry post brexit, of which there is going to be a lot
